    After Dexter's Lab? :rotfl:

We went for Vinnie, but also has Bert. DS1 wanted Dexter!

Like both of those but not for a girl. :rotfl:

Had to look up what Mike the Knight and Dexter's Lab are. :o Son has no time on computers and doesn't watch TV (we don't have one). Usually listen to Radio 3, so I doubt he'll find inspiration for a name there, either. Though, I've just done so by writing this! Currently I'm reading Enid Blyton's Famous Five series to son, we aren't very with the times in Derbyshire.

  • Reminds me of buying wine in Lidl on the basis it was named after a composer and so couldn't be too bad.

Maybe Cimarosa was the wrong choice.

Love the dog names discussion. If son really wants Alvin - you could allow it and shorten it to Al - which is quite easy and works on the sheepdog basis of names of one syllable only?
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

The question is would calling her Syrah be a little bit council too? ;)

What about Scummie, that's a sort of family name?;)

    I wouldn't recommend !!!!!! (hope mods don't get me):D.
  • Hi alex, stumbled over you again by accident.

What a difference to the start of your journey. You are a man with a vocation, confident in your parenting, being in control of your money, making your own decisions, which your parents are starting to accept. Less and less bad days.

You just need to respect yourself now, because if you dont, you cant expect anyone else too.

It is wonderful to read your mortgage free journey. Really wonderful.and you still have a very engaging writing style. If you converse with new people in a similar way, i bet you gather new friends easily.
  • Haha it's hardly the hood up here is it! In Buxton today and the drive here was fantastic.

I'm loving the dog names discussion, if we are going on wine choices, my wine choices are on the look of the label so on that basis id take absolutely no notice of anything i have suggested!
  • You have to let your son name her.
    How very exciting!

That's how my rescue spaniel arrived with the name Dora...we changed it to Jura pretty sharpish!

Isolde for yours...? ;) Shortens nicely to Izzy for shouting purposes :)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I take it that it was 'too bad', then?

That's a great suggestion, Watty. Though it wasn't my son hat suggested Alvin, I think that was Ali's son. Imagine he's a bit old for still wanting Alvin though, Ali?

Don't get me started about 'scummies' today, maman. Every time my mother takes my son anywhere he'll be in contact with other children (as today), according to her there's always one or too many. Today was no exception and of course followed with "it wasn't like this in our day, was it, Mr K Snr.?".

    Advice noted. :D

:rotfl: Safely dodged the mods. :)
