The puppy sounds lovely.
Really enjoying the image of the Meccano set landrover.
You seem more upbeat in your posts which is good to see.HOME

My mother is 74 and still very fit and well, no signs of slowing down, still working, does lots of walking, playing about with Land Rovers, even if I do get the joys of fixing it. Father will be 80 this year and is not so fit and well. Both my cousin and I will see the dog regularly, I will probably walk her with ours and my son and cousin has already said if they cannot cope she'll have her back.smallholdingsister wrote: »You are all going to be very busy for a while...

Thank you, she is lovely but hard work.
No one seems to believe me about LRs but they really are simple cars.
I'm OK, still finding things difficult if I'm honest but trying not to dwell on it.2018 totals:

:rotfl: That was my first thought too, they were aware my son wanted two dogs (so the other doesn't get lonely??? Think he's trying to tell us something there about wanting siblings. :rotfl:), I think that was half the reason they had one but she will be well looked after and my mother seems really quite upbeat about having another dog.2018 totals:

If might give them both a new lease of life Alex :T Make sure they both go out with the dog for walks and don't just leave it up to you - puppy walking is a great way to meet new people. Everyone loves a puppyA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Not sure about a new lease of life but they seem to have embraced the idea of competitive dog training. :rotfl:2018 totals:

Sunday 16th August, 2015.
Dear Diary,
Apart from doggy duties and Sunday lunch, today has been spent working on the kitchen and helping Mrs K to design our ideal bathroom. I was quite surprised she apologised about the holiday and said it was booked 'on impulse'. I found myself saying buying on impulse was the cause of our previous financial mismanagement which she found hilarious. Can't say I really believed the words were coming from me, seems this MSE thing is here to stay.
My mind has also been on the potential teaching career after a conversation on here about the low pay unless you happen to be a Deputy or Headmaster. Having not looked into the salary before, I was shocked for a few days. It's no wonder they have trouble attracting the best graduates, in my opinion. However, for me it's not about the money and I only intend to take a part time position in order to still be involved with business interests.
In financial news, the usual £30 has been added to savings. Frankly, I can't believe how excited I am to be so close to my target. A part of me is considering aiming for £12,000 by the end of the year but I'm not sure how I'd feel if I failed to get there had I reviewed my initial target. I suppose my real target is to have the roof and bathroom done by the end of 2016, then it's saving to rid ourselves of the mortgage with some fun along the way ... I'm thinking an Aston Martin is on the cards before handing the money over to the bank to pay off the house.
Yours Faithfully,
Alex.2018 totals:
