My cousin picked the quietest for my parents, perhaps that's made a difference?
Importantly my son adores her already.Just need to get through these first few months, I think.
Of course it made a difference. The dog was suited to an elderly couple whereas yours is suited to a young family - nice work by your cousin I'd say.
I've never had a puppy - the gorgeous german shepherd I have came from the idiots next door who never did anything with him and gave him away at just under 2 years because he was so difficult. Once someone gave him some boundaries and taught him the basics he became possibly the best dog in the world in my opinionMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Thanks, Watty. You are right.
I suppose I'm annoyed Mrs K wants to be involved one minute, when there's nothing to do but then refuses to help when there is something to do. It's like having two children at times, unfortunately she knows she can get away with it, though.
On another note, business isn't great but I'm doing lots of reading about the teaching. The more I read about it the more interesting and challenging it seems.Currently reading about prep level teaching, seems I have a bit of experience with that as most of my music pupils are under 10 years old and with my son, of course. Also hoping to have some positive money news soon.

You're making me feel sick just thinking about it, smallholding. We don't do babies / young animals very well here!
Must admit to speed reading that post, missing the comma and assuming you were thinking of starting a smallholding!!:eek:It's like having two children at times, unfortunately she knows she can get away with it, though.
But would you let your son get away with it?? That's the way doormats are made and soon worn out.
Fortunately, childcare will get a little easier when LittleK starts school but does MrsK realise that if you embark on PGCE and all that follows you won't be able to continue with the lion's share of running the household?
Maybe you need to employ one of these?;)

Very good ...Must admit to speed reading that post, missing the comma and assuming you were thinking of starting a smallholding!!
:rotfl: It'd be a very small holding unless I rented some land from the farmer next door or moved to my parents'. Mother's side of the family have been farming for generations, I know enough to realise it's somewhat of a vocation. That said at some point, when I take over my parents' house, I do think a few sheep / cows and a bit of hay making might be quite fun, no money would be made from it.But would you let your son get away with it?? That's the way doormats are made and soon worn out.

No, I wouldn't let my son get away with it. Mrs K just refuses to be involved in whatever the task is that she doesn't want to do, if anything else is said she walks out or decides to stay at her brother's house for the evening / weekend / week. Therefore, I cannot really see how anything can be changed.
The main reason I'm against pursuing the teaching is because I don't want my son to grow up with both parents always working. I suppose I'll see how he gets on at school over this year before making my mind up to apply and sending him to prep school. At the moment he is looking forward to attending school but wants to come home for lunch.
Someone to organise my life would be good ... I'm nominating MSEs Spreadsheet Fiddler of the Year 2015, AliOK.2018 totals:

As for putting Mrs K on a lead, I thought that was something to save for a special night, isn't it....?Are there any wife training classes near you Alex?
