Note to self: if you see a forum that has a place on it where you can vent - don't bother- it will be only be answered by horrible people with ..erm....well lets just say..."too much time on their hands"0

Noo! Hmmm, maybe not "lucky" then but I'm polite to people, I say please and thank you, I hold open doors etc and it's always nice to interact with people with the same values I think. Manners really don't cost anything.
Maybe its because you are being polite, so the delivery drivers are also polite.
when i was working in retail, i was less polite with certain nasty customers0 -
Count your lucky stars you received your delivery, I have been waiting two days now for my delivery coming through with Yodel. Seems a bit excessive fuming over the matter...0

I've worked in a call center and I kinda have some sort of appreciation towards the people who are possibly a bit more apathetic towards customers.
Put yourself in the Yodel guy's shoes (pun intended)....
- Family/personal problems on his mind? Possible
- Low working wage and a high number of hours? Likely
- Dodgy pay scheme, like commission only? Possible
- Delivering shoes that he won't be able to afford any time soon, and then having a customer rabbit on about their new shoes bought from Amazon (can you see him caring?)? Possible
- Having the 1,000th person of the day rabbit on about the same old stuff? Possible
- You having the "crank" or "weirdo" factor? Unlikely but possible
- Delivery guy actually not being as bad as you said? Unlikely but also possible
So yea, lots of factors. I think the fact that you got it is a minor miracle though because yodel are clowns. In retrospect the delviery guy here was actually friendly! Or maybe he was annoyed because you were in and collared him before he could "put" your shoes in the bin for "safe keeping", whilst leaving you a "I have left the parcel in your garage" note hahaha0 -
I imagine that his job is probably quite a thankless one so he may have just been in a bad mood, having a bad day, or busy and wanted to do his job and get on.
It's not in his job description to have a 'chat' with you. You didn't receive bad service. His job is to get the package to you safely and get a signature. Which is exactly what he did.
Yes, you might class his silence as ignorant but it's not something you should complain about. I'd just get over it if I were you.0 -
Or he simply realized that the OP is a chatty type and has learned that if you give this type any encouragement it is far harder to get away ......and time is literally money with these kind of jobs.
The OP sounds like she is quite lonely and likes a chat - nothing wrong with that but not everyone has the time.
I hope the OP doesn't complain as it really doesn't sound justified.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

As usual, it seems a lot of people have placed their own, probably incorrect, interpretation on the OP's post in order to be able to have a go.
As I see it, the OP wasn't complaining that the delivery person wouldn't chat, he was complaining that he didn't respond in any way.
Such behaviour on the part of the driver is pig ignorant, and it doesn't say a lot for the manners of those who defend it. Even just a grunt is better than completely blanking someone
I very much doubt Yodel will care though.0 -

Some of the delivery people in this area don't speak very good English, maybe the driver just didn't understand what the OP was saying so didn't respond to avoid an inappropriate response?2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
