Options
i got shoes from ebay delivered this morning by yodel packaging and the guy who was so incredibly rude

I'm used to the British tradition of chatting with the postman and said to him as i was signing these are shoes i ordered from ebay

Silence

he was holding another package and i was expecting another package and i said is that for me as well?

Silence

he took the thing I'd signed and just turned and walked off and like an idiot I said thanks very much bye

Silence

i'm still absolutely fuming and it was 3 hours ago

does anyone have an e-mail or a phone number for them i looked at the wrapping the website but surprise surprise there was nothing about complaints

Which makes me think yodel must be flooded with complaints

Thanks for reading vent over! X

You're absolutely fuming that the delivery guy didn't want to chat with you, really?

Have you considered that English may not be his first language and he may not have had any clue what on earth you were going on about?

He might be deaf or mute. His only job is to deliver package and get it signed for. Maybe he just wasn't in the mood for chit chat, which is hardly worth complaining about.

Imagine what his next delivery would entail after a complaint of not getting a service with a smile. Skipping to my door and offering me the cheesiest smile with an operatic "How Are You This Fine Day Sir?" Might just cost him his teeth, depending if I am in the mood for general chit chat or not. ;)

Last time I had a courier delivery ( i dealt with the same driver again a week later) I can honestly say his manner was rude, aggressive to the point of thinking " what are you on?". He was quite scary!
I wouldn't bother complaining myself, I'd just be as ignorant back to him if required.
To me it's like " cartoon rudeness" like a comedy sketch- it can be quite amusing.
    Saying that , I think it's a hard job .

    Exactly.
People who live here and work here shouldn't be expected to speak our language, share our morals, or observe our customs.

It would just be rude to expect them to.

Chit chat is not a custom nor a question of morals.

Why does the courier have to give two hoots where the parcel comes from?
