Have you contacted the Eon rep on here at the email address given by Hollydays?

Because the agent on the phone has told me to ring on Monday to findout the details and the department doesn't work on weekend so it won't be answered. So it will be best to email them when I know why my bill is like this tomorrow. Thanks.

The reps that support their Social Media side are not necessarily the same people you speak with on the phone.

Lets hope you can give them clearer info than you have in this thread - I thought i was well versed in energy bills but you've confused the hell out of me!!

Monthly estimates? Really? Why? Are the estimates accurate - do you know what your real readings are (do you care?)

You know your DD payments are generally based on 12 months usage averaged out over a year don't you? If you are really far behind after 12 months (or maybe at an intermediate bill) then there may be a big payment to restore the account to parity.

How about you actually read the bloomin meters yourself?? You need to be telling us about actual reading figures and units/KWh, not DD amounts - they are meaningless in terms of your energy consumption..

If you are moving then they'll need a reading on the day you leave. Why do you think the £577 is a monthly figure and not just a catch-up fee / final bill to coverall the previous (apparently low) estimates???

You will get a much better response from the Eon rep on here than some (with all due respect) nameless someone in a call-centre... :D

I'm confused, are you moving house or just moving to another energy supplier?

Yes please post the bill that says £577 then we might get some sense out of all this
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

    Good morning,

I have to admit, I've read the whole thread but I'm also a bit confused :o

So if I can maybe clarify?

You've been paying DD per month of £77 for both gas and electricity?

You then have a meter change and we send you a bill for £577?

Then you let us know you're moving (house? Or supplier?) and we say your payments will now be £577 per month?

First of all it looks like we've been underestimating the reads on the old meter, this has caused a catch up bill. This is where we bill to accurate reads after low estimates and causes a larger bill. This was probably established when the meter was removed.

We're only obliged to read meters once every two years, we do rely on customers reading there own meters and providing them, this is really easy when you have an online account.

Although meters readers have visited your property, we may have still estimated if the reads didn't appear to fall in line.

It does appear you manage your account online, this means your DD changes will be on an email or at the bottom of your bill.

I agree with zax47, we need some usage in kWh and some clear info if this was a catch up bill and how much the DD is going forward.

I'm more than happy to help, but I really need to establish things a bit more.

Thank you and thank you for the advise on the thread :)

  • Hi Firstly my bill is £577 per month. I am moving to a different supplier. The meter wasn't faulty and was no evidence of this. But I been told it was and that my bill would be £577 but how can you tell if you say the meter was faulty. That not my fault I been paying £77 a month but as soon as I emailed the agent that I was moving and wasn't happy my bill went up to £577.

Also hope your other customer can see this you took the money out without warning . If you want to discuss this with reference you can pm me privately. I have now spoke with the agent and it was a mistake. I got no compensation for call time over 37mins on Saturday and yesterday over 42 mins. What if the money came out of my overdraft what if I was some one who needed the money and taking without a warning.
