Mar can be dangerous when she runs out of jelly babies...

And as the elephant belonged to the flyladies, she'd better keep a low profile ;)

:) Evening all (patented knee-dip a la Dixon of Dock Green).

Well, I crawled up off the floor where I was doing some stretches and fell into the Prepping thread and that greenbee intimated Nursie might just be needed over here.........

Hmmm, for those who've not 'met' Nursie, let me sketch you an outline. Imagine what would happen if Nurse Gladys Emmanuel and Ghengis Khan had got together to breed. She's big, she's baaad and she's very VERY bad-tempered. Nursie has a multi-coloured belt in The Dreaded Origami and will fold felons into very artistic small shapes if vexed.

She's a woman with a mission. She's presently off on her holibobs, or so she would have me believe. She thinks I didn't notice the Korean phrasebook and the secret squirrel messages from her little playfriends in paramilitary circles - I think she's presently somewhere between China and NK and about to make a certain fat lad feel very sorry for himself indeedy. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

But enough of that, the international news will reveal the outcome of Nursie - her actions normally register on seismographs and cause ructions in the underblanket of history which take centuries to straighten out.

When the rubble has stopped bouncing, she will make her way back to the hall cupboard here at Shoebox Towers, where she lurks with my trusty smiling sidekick, Henri d'Vac.

This guy at your work, most of us have met him, in various places and under various names. Scum often rises to the surface where it bobs around stinking and blocking the light from the productive creatures getting on with their work.

All things pass, including the likes of him. Smiling slyly at people like this, when no one else is looking, tends to make them sweat. Childish, but great fun.

If necessary, I can deploy Nursie once she's back from south-east Asia, but at the moment she's incommunicado with her commandoes and I dursen't try distracting her.

 Gordon Bennett, Nursie on a mission is dangerous enough, Nursie being distracted is probably on a par with going to Def Con 3.

Dearest, darling, little flower, sweetest heart, GreyQueen.

All is clear. I did wonder why Billy Bunter was standing on a podium, grinning greasily while someone wound up the clockwork soldiers and set several million of them goosestepping to.....somewhere.
It was obviously Nursie's welcoming committee.

Did the Fat Guy know she was on her way?
That explains the sudden proliferation of nuclear explosions being "tested" in his neck of the woods. Poor misguided fool. Just imagine Nursie being put off by nuclear explosions.

When she returns do you think we could borrow her for a couple of days. I'm sure someone could put her up in a cupboard somewhere. I'd do it myself but I'm moving house/ burying my great grandmother/have a tribe of pygmies already in the cupboard/there is an outbreak of beri-beri next door/the WI has been taken over by the Spanish Inquisitors/I'm washing my hair that night................

Anyway, we will return her as soon as Karchers bully has been brought to his knees. Oh yes, we will definitely return her. Immediately, if not before.

    Thanking you in anticipation,
    yours very truly

GreyQueen Many thanks for popping in and enlightening me on the enigma that is 'Nursie'. :D

She is clearly someone to be revered and I would not like to be the one to interrupt her current mission/holibobs

I have had excellent advice from the Fencers here, so maybe to avoid any unnecessary ructions Nursie should remain undistracted ;)

ETA I do so love the 'underground support network' that dwells here on the OS board :)

Thanks Grey Queen and monnagran for making me smile. I love this board. :D

I'd forgotten the elephant originally belonged to the Flyladies! Whatever are we going to do if they ask for it back? We could say that Nursie took it with her, couldn't we?

I'm going to visit a friend and former colleague this morning. She's retired now and moved house last year, and what with one thing and another we haven't seen each other for several years, so we're both looking forward to it :j. I've bought her some flowers; it would have been both nicer and more MS to have taken her some roses from my garden, but they're climbing roses and the stems really aren't long enough to go into a vase, and they are very thorny into the bargain.*

    * They don't half smell lovely though :)

You lot certainly help cheer up the day. Bye the way Karcher - I think your 'underground' should be changed to 'subversive' lol!

Well DD & I have worked ourselves to a standstill today, every cupboard and drawer has been emptied and everything has been packed in boxes.
There are a few thing awaiting collection and a few clean clothes ready to be worn.
The grass has been mown and the carpet vacuumed.
Tomorrow the house will be dusted and swept.
    Chin up, Titus out.
