 Oh mar, how could you? Still, as you already have....I imagine it will need to be cooked very slowly.0

Mar, I needed that laugh. How does the RV feel about elephant stew?0

I have yet another useful suggestion.
If someone could just nip over to the Preppers or Kondoers and fetch GreyQueen I'm sure she could track Nursie down. In fact she has probably got her lurking around in a cupboard or shed.
Now, if anyone can sort out karcher's bully it will be Nursie.
mar, just how big is your freezer?

Well, it may be a 'school night' but I've poured myself a G&T..I've heard it fends off midges and seeing as I get bitten by anything that bites, I thought, why not?
Thank you all for your excellent advice and support. You've no idea how much it has helped and put things into perspective for me.
I had already considered it was him feeling slightly put out that someone, especially a woman , was more knowledgeable than him, was doing a very good job and had ideas of how things can be improved and implementing them too.
I clearly, and completely unintentionally, make him feel lacking and he needs to 'big' himself up, so any changes I make for the better, or ideas I have, were obviously his idea when he reports back to the 'boss'! It's so unnecessary, I'm not out to score any points, I just want to do my job to the best of my ability..and just maybe, be appreciated for it.
I was brought in because my co-worker has been left to his own devices for years and standards have dropped as a result. They clearly won't get rid of him, but I am copping the flak for his laziness and incompetence..why I don't quite know, but I am.
But my main issue is the way I am spoken to, the aggressive, derogatory manner; the 'you should just be grateful you have a job' tone, I can't cope with. I'm sensitive to the criticism when I know I am putting my all into the job and rather than get angry, I get upset.
But after all your good advice, I am determined just to smile, not retaliate, not try and defend myself...I'll just say OK and walk away, head held high. As some of you say, it's a waste of time trying to fight my corner so I will work on that 'silent amusement', hold my head up high and know deep down, I am more than doing a good job and will continue to enjoy and take pride in my work.
Thank you all :A...rather sad the elephant won't be coming to my rescue though
:)xx'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

That's some size of freezer mar?
A stew wouldn't go amiss here today, very wet and decidedly chilly compared to the last few weeks.0 -
Re 'tone of voice' / aggressive attitude.
I once got so fed up of someone who constantly spoke to Everyone as if they were dirt that the one time he spoke to me like that I did pull him up. I just said, "Just a minute x, I would never speak to you in that way. I guess you not aware how aggressive you sound but there's no need for it."
I walked away as he looked startled. Best not to give chance for a response because anyone 'cornered' can react badly. I gave him time to cool down on his own.
He never did it again, to me anyway!
BTW, just saying 'I would never talk to you like that' is a technique i used with my nephew when he was about 4 and he got stroppy! It stopped him, tooI have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
We don't need no elephant!!!
WE have heavy handbags and rolling pins!
Karcher
He is obviously jealous as sin and thick as pig**** and nasty to boot. Those are just his good points! (heavy sarcasm).
Once he finds another mug to fool he will probably move on but eventually get his comeuppance. I got DH out of a situation where he was in a role that produced most of the fees yet got treated like dirt, could not have time off , or help etc and others were treated like gods. The irony is he was better qualified than anyone else. A year after I got DH out of there the place went bust and was sold off for the land."This site is addictive!"
