Don't go there Candygirl. Really dont! Hester is an 'incident' waiting to happen at the best of times.
Hester + damson gin doesn't bear thinking about.
Well, the first and only viewers of my des res returned today for a second viewing. Their house is sold STC so I think their minds are pretty concentrated.
Watch this space.
Now then burtha, you should have remembered to take your knitting, or an improving book, or tomorrow's vegetables to peel or something.
I bet the hours are dragging past.
Would you like me to pop over and entertain you. I can sing, play the piano, (OK, only nursery rhymes and hymns and very much of the Les Dawson school of piano playing but beggars can't be choosers) I can recite poems (I do a good one about a little mouse hiding in his house, complete with actions. It goes down well with 3 year-olds,) I can make great pastry and cut a straight slice of bread. I think that is the sum total of my talents, but I'm available for bookings.
I can't bear to think of you being bored.
Our blue skies and sunshine have been visiting someone else today, but it has been warm. Tomorrow looks a bit brighter.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Damsen gin sounds interesting... sloe gin is nice ... normal gin , I've never had because it smells like perfume ...nasty
but then I pretend to drink behind the bar anyway , don't think anyone has twigged yet ... My spirit and coke , is really only diet coke
thankfully was only at club till just after 5 , so managed to get paperwork and stuff done , so wasn't totally bored , but it was a bit odd that no one was there ... went from there to my other project , a few mth back I mentioned my press incounter ... thankfully it was more than successful, plus lots of hard work and a small group of us has managed to turn things around with our community centre , long story short big debts ,now paid off , and the centre now has a future , people are intrested again , yes it's more work for me , but it's fun ... so straight there tonight for another fundraising evening , fab think we have raised about 9k so far .... but better still , people in the village now have a buzz about them , have hopefully woken up to the fact that if they don't use it we loose it , and they are talking to each other ...and we have a right variety of ages /people ...... wow ..
so everything not signed and sealed but going in the right direction , although I think I have used up all my favours lol
Monna, house sounds promising ??
Right must try and go to bed , didn't bother going the night before ....£223/ £250 GC0 -
Fingers crossed that the viewers turn into buyers Monna.
Thanks Candy.
As for my history of incidents, we managed to squeeze three of us into our bed last night, nothing kinky though,, dgd had a nightmare. I spent a few hours with Captain Hot Stuff snoring in one ear and Dgd shuffling in the other.
We had some excitement yesterday, dgd and I were walking passed some parked cars and she noticed that a women in one of the cars was screaming.
She was locked in and had been for some time and it was hot and sunny, she asked me to find her husband but didn't know the name of the boat he was on.
Fortunately I recognised her description of him so was able to locate him, he had the remote for the car in his pocket and must have locked her in accidentally.
She came back to our boat for a cold drink to recover.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning all,
I know it has been ages--I though things would slow down after Easter with work but instead they sped up. I've go two more real weeks of busy-ness, and we're moving house at the end of it! We're moving out to a small village to try it out for awhile and think about if we'd like to buy there once we've finally finished saving. The car has been brilliant, we can do the weekly shop in half the time and can also stock up on heavier items instead of relying on closer shops. It is still very much a luxury item in the budget, but at least it earns just a touch of its keep now and then!
I've been thinking about you all, pleased to see nothing has changed about Hester's behaviour in spite of the brilliant new nautical location!
Monna, I do hope the house sells soon and that you get a nice garden and can go and visit the dalmatian and then leave again!
Burtha, I'm sorry to hear things have been tough. I always envision you a hive of activity, like a very productive beehive.
I hope Nursemaggie is enjoying her time away--she is in Malta at the moment, I think?
Ivy, I think poppies can be one of several types--some of them are biennials, but not all.
We're off for a walk and a picnic today. I've made sausage rolls this morning, a pasta salad, some carrot batons, cherry tomatoes, strawberries and some shop bought bourbons because life has been too busy for baking. The sausage rolls had to be made though as I had the sausage meet in the freezer bought on yellow sticker and I'm trying to avoid moving most food items!
I have big, nerve wracking, event at the end of next week that involves speaking and answering questions and I'm very nervous. It has a small potential to turn out wonderful and a big potential to end up being a lot of work for nothing. I'm practicing daily but OH suggested I needed a break (not sure what gave it away, might have been when I started moving things around in the fridge to make room for a box of tea and had to be reminded that tea goes in the cupboard).
At any rate there are big changes afoot chez FPK, most exciting but gosh I'm ready for a long stretch of boring!
Hugs to you all.xx0 -
Lovely to see you FPk! Good luck with the move and the big event. i hope it won't be too long before things calm down a bit!
monnagran Good luck re buyers x
burtha I hope all goes really well tonight! Lovely that people are so interested in their community now :T
Hester That poor woman! Thank goodness you came along!
better have some breakfast before church, be back later.0 -
Hi there, FairyP. Nice to hear from you again. Glad that life is good for you. Hope the event next week goes well. Don't stress and don't think about it. There is nothing to think about, you just get on and do it. This excellent piece of advice was given to me by my late Dad when I was twitching about driving on my own for the first time after passing my driving test, which was so long ago that I had to have a man with a red flag walking in front of the car.
Hester, honestly , how do all these exciting things happen to you? I hope that the restorative cold drink wasn't damson gin. On ice. I'd love to have heard the conversation when the poor woman met her husband again.
burtha, well done on the fund raising. Is there anything that you don't get involved with?
Having said that, I am spending today baking . The village hall roof needs megabucks spent on it and apparently my choc chip cookies and cheese scones are going to make all the difference at the Village Fair tomorrow. Actually that should be "Village Fayre". but pseudo mediaeval English shrivels my soul.
Pickle has just brought me a picture that she has drawn of her friend Bluebell. It has a head, a body, long hair, no arms or legs but it does have, carefully drawn, a pair of the much envied glasses.

Send scones and biscuits this way please ...
Fayre sounds fun , think our little group should put our selves out there marketing as how to raise funds for ??? .... In the last 3 mth 2 fun days , irish night, rock night ,country&western, race night, auctions, bag packs , but debt now paid for for the first time in about 4 years we have funds in the bank , now just waiting for change over and we can start applying for grants to fix the roof and update things ... but the scary thing is we have people in there 20's wanting to get involved .... fab
Suppose this village is now like everywhere else now , nobody works near ,they all travel out to work and drive out for there social life , schools and shoping , everyone passes through ,the one thing we are getting told is nobody knew the centre was here .....now they do ,and the more that come the more people get to here , got to do something to build the community back up , I don't want my kids growing up in a place that looks beautiful but has no soul ...
Maybe that's why I get involved , maybe I can't make much of a different but at least I am giving it a go ... thank god my family are with meand who knows how many years I can do it for ,so as I can I will
fairy sure you will be fine and the move will go ok , Hester I hope the drink was something stronger than tea , and the picture sounds great , I had the privilege of being drawn last night by the little girl who helped me with the raffle ... It was an outstanding but intresting image lol
right better get a wiggle on house full of teenagers ,kitchen looks like it's hasn't being cleaned for weeks thanks to the snacks they have made ...
think tonight may be the time to open the wine £223/ £250 GC0 -
