Thank all,
Just plodding on , believe it or not I haven't had any alcohol in the last 2 mths , think if I have one I may not stop lol ... so I will just stick to coffee
The death of a child is just not right , takes a bit to get your head around and no matter how bad you think it's going to be before it happens the reality when it does is like a thousand voltes going through you body ... and not stopping for a few weeks .. but time to move on , ..... sure at some point it will get better , sitting moping around will do nobody any favours .... and in this house no time to stand still , dogs ,kids ,work ,bar, meetings, life, bring it on
X
burtha, No, the death of a child is never right and the hardest thing to endure...no words can describe it.
And to see your child suffer such a loss is doubly heartbreaking.
Adrenalin kicks in and you wonder in hindsight how you coped...but somehow you do and plodding on is as good a reason as any.
But what is equally as hard is the sympathy. You appreciate so much the love, care and concern of others but you say 'I'm ok' because you want to shield others from the pain you yourself are suffering. Staying strong is what others want you to do because they don't want you to suffer...but sometimes there is no strength left.
You have my heartfelt condolences, for all they are worth...I honestly do feel your pain.
I'm so sorry. Take care x'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
Burtha - can only echo Mrs L and Karcher words and hope for some comfort for you and your familySmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Just done some weeding in the front border. i am very out of practice so only did 20 minutes, and it looks no better at all yet. We have a lot of creeping buttercup so I think i'll have to dig it all out. Perhaps not today though!0

burtha, had a similar situation with a garden once. Invited a gang of friends to a barbecue, dress code gardening trousers, stout shoes and well worn shirts, Pass to enter was their favourite garden tool. Lots came. Much ribaldry, much laughter and a fair bit of work. Simple barbecue and something to quench the thirst.
I won't say that the garden was Chelsea standard at the end but at least we could see where it began and ended.
Pickle gave me a present this morning. It was a small gift bag covered in pink hearts. It contained a pink mirror from her dolls house, a pink butterfly sticker, (are you getting the trend here) and the pre-chewed leg from her gingerbread man.
I am so blessed!

Monna I'm blaming your half chewed ginger bread on my decision to go and make a sandwich
so much for the healthy salad and cottage cheese I had for my tea ... starving lol
Bear hunt sounds fun as does a bbq ...although they may have to hack down the grass next to it
Why not ,
Or the other idea could be ,I could dress in green and hide down there for at least half a hour ....They would never find me ....
May have to camouflage my dog though ....:D

My DNiece had a painting party at her old house once - a modern semi. She and DNephew have just bought/or are still buying a larger, older place on the Black Isle.
That could be a fun way to get to know the neighbours.
They have three dogs and the youngest wants to emigrate to Australia via the garden. So no garden tidy parties.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Sending hugs to Burtha and hoping the world gives her a break soon xx
Not so great weather here had quite a bit of rain and today was a bit overcast at times but this evening is humid. Hoping it stays dry tomorrow so I can get my steps in. No fun walking in the rain when you don't have to (though if I still had my dog would be doing it willingly)
Hope everyone is keeping well
Take care xx0 -
Hope everyone is as well as possible.
Nice and warm here again today, such a relief, i wondered if i was ever going to be able to leave off the vests and thick jumpers!0
