Ah, i just caught up with the prepping thread and wondered if you'd meant to post this over there0

Quick one from me . I may be back later .
I just want to wish NM a good journey , lots of fun with her loved ones and as much sun and warmth as she'd like .
The journey will be tiring but if you get a chance to recharge your batteries and lift your spirits whilst abroad it will be worth the travel involved .
I must say I had a little grin the other day at your mention of the weather for the following day . Over on the coast I had the heavy horrible cloud you had and it's pretty well continued in similar vein .
Have you ever heard the Manchester song by The Beautiful South ?
I'm not in GM but the first time I heard that I cried laughing as Paul Heaton was singing for us all up here
I listen to it often , the number of storms we've had in the last few years don't seems bad if you can listen to that and laugh .
" If Rain makes Britain Great , Manchester is Greater " says it all for the region and the rest of us up here .
Still sending positive vibes for all those needing them including McC, Ginny and Hester and everyone else .
May get back later today . Have a good day all who can .

We had a really good boot fair and sold about 2/3 of what we took. What's left will be put in the clothing and book banks here in the village and be offered to a charity shop if they'll take it and we've made a substantial sum towards the new dining table I've got my eye on. The store room has a floor again, the hall isn't full of boxes and we're absolutely shattered but very happy!0

Hi all,
So glad all the normal madness has being going on here, hope the elephant is safe and hasn't fell into the stuff going to the car boot sale , or lost on a boat trip or hidden within nursemaggie suitcase ....
Hello to Kim .
So need to get back to normal after probably the worse few weeks ever , doing stuff I never thought I would ever have to do and no parent should every have to . Don't sometimes you just wonder why and please give me/us a break !
So now slowly building back up and trying to hold everything / everyone together ...
Now pass the biscuits along please ... xx£223/ £250 GC0 -
Hi Burtha, biscuits duly passed and a bucket of tea! We've had the chicken pox (well that Zebra has) and are now watching Oreo closely because he's almost certain to join in! We were busy yesterday with the first of several boot fair visits to shed some surplus possessions and spent most of the day outside in the fresh air and as a result slept very well last night. I wish I could say the house looked less full but at least I can see some of the floor in the store room again. I'm going to have to be firm with myself and let things go, two in a household really don't need to have enough of everything for 10 ! I hope we'll get the oven up and running again today we've had hob/salad meals since Friday and I have a real yearning for jacket potatoes for supper tonight. The one day service for the broken part didn't deliver on Friday so I'm hoping it will arrive today. Quieter day today and possibly a trip into town on the bus for some odds and ends that we need and a Cookie walk at lunchtime with some time to sit in the garden in the sunshine later in the afternoon with a pot of tea, ah bliss!!!0

Hugs Burtha, take care of yourself.

Ouch burtha! You've obviously been going through one of those times that you will look back on in years to come and wonder how you ever survived it. But look! Here you are, alive, (just) and kicking, (hopefully smeone's rear end, very hard.) Nice to see you again. Have a chocolate digestive.
Hester: don't forget, pace yourself.
I have deliberately not mentioned the weather as we seem to have come off better than anyone else. The terrible rain and hail that Silvasava had, not a million miles from here, took place while I was sitting in the garden sunning myself. DS2 was working in a garden a 10 minute stroll from here and had to give up because of torrential rain. He returned home to find me reading in the sunlit garden, not a drop of moisture anywhere. I told him that it was because I was such a good and righteous person, the sun would always shine on me. I distinctly heard him mutter something about cauldrons and broomsticks.
However, it looks like a heatwave for this week. Where are my summer clothes? Packed up in my friend's garage, that's where.
