(((HUGS))) karcher, hang on in there girl.
burtha I'd forgotten about the monkeys
I agree with monna that GQ's Nursie would soon sort him out!0 -
Monkeys? If they're any good at packing, send them here next Hester! The last stretch of moving is always frantic, and downsizing to boat size must make it that much more complicated! As for Karcher's little 'friend' I think Nursie might just be the medicine required!
All is well here. I'm on track to meet my deadline for next week and still practicing for Friday (and improving). OH is making great strides in the preparing to move department and has taken over some of my chores over half term while I finish up this last stretch. One of my chores is laundry. Since I work from home most days it is easier for me to pop in a wash when I make breakfast and get it hung out at lunch or a tea break. Well. Today I sorted most of a wash, asked him to gather up a few things and he was going to start it before going out to do some errands I went to hang it out when I went down for lunch only to discover he'd washed them with one of Maggie the Cat's fur covered blankets. In his defense I'd forgotten to tell him it was in the washer. Getting the fur off of the clothing is going to be fun.
I'm not sure what we'll have for tea tonight, probably a thai green curry or a kidney bean and ginger stew.0 -
Oh no FPk  I hope you've got a good brush and a lint roller or similar!0
-
If lint rollers aren't handy a pair of rubber gloves is quite useful for picking up fur. Having said that, some always gets in to the weave.
A former bf of mine had a white cat and she even managed to get cat hair on his suits when they were still covered in polythene from the dry cleaners. Impressive.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
I have yet another useful suggestion.
If someone could just nip over to the Preppers or Kondoers and fetch GreyQueen I'm sure she could track Nursie down. In fact she has probably got her lurking around in a cupboard or shed.
Now, if anyone can sort out karcher's bully it will be Nursie.
mar, just how big is your freezer?

Who is Nursie?
Both you and FairyPrincessk have mentioned her.
I admit to being intrigued!'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
We do indeed have a lint roller, a brush and even a pair of dedicated rubber gloves.
Fortunately the cat is mostly a blue grey colour, but she does have white patches.
Karcher--I'll botch the explanation of nursie, I'm sure. She is a formidable character who lives in Grey Queen's cupboard. I always imagine her as a combination of The Trunchbull from Mathilda and Nurse Ratched. The trouble with Nursie is that once unleashed it is hard to put her back in her box again!0 -
Whoever et the monkeys it was not me! I'm still quite full after the elephant..0
-
FPK That's a good explanation of Nursie, but you forgot to add that she is entirely imaginary
Do you remember when GQ managed to persuade her to go to Australia to visit Softstuff for a while? :rotfl:
ETA She lives in the cupboard with Henri d'Vac, GreyQueen's Henry vacuum cleaner.0 -

She's been quiet for a while... are you SURE she's still at GQ's? Or was she sent off to a war zone somewhere?0
