Oh look, I am posting....took one sons SO for a run this morning....through thick mud.....and she only started limping at about 4 and a half miles....and then I embarrassed them a bit over dinner.....I have had plenty to drink...hopefully I ll be forgiven.
No where to hang the wet washing...so it's over the banisters.

    Have fun folks despite everything.
  • SHANKS just read through and I'm so very sad for you, the furries in our lives give us so much whilst they are with us and the loss when they leave is heart breaking. Docky seems to be the reception committee for MSE fur faces when they cross the rainbow bridge and I'm sure your loved furry is now being introduced to the little band who we've loved and have shared their lives and love with us and is settling in with some new pals. Sending you hugs and hoping that the peace that comes with a little distance is yours very soon xxx.

Hope everyone's day went as well as possible and that you all have sufficient rennies.

I'll be round for chicken butties later Ivyleaf. I can't recall if she said that ivyleaf.... funniest moment by far was when in an otherwise cheerful conversation, she waited her turn until things had gotten quiet, grabbed my mother in laws arm and out of the blue began "you know the worst thing that ever happened to me...."

My mother in laws face was a picture. :rotfl:

I wouldn't say Christmas was ruined by a long shot Nursemaggie, just that she was the cause of my mother in law and I enjoying a few cocktails rather than the usual couple of glasses of wine :rotfl:

Today we have friends coming from Melbourne, looking forward to it greatly.

Preparing dinner was all going so well until I sliced my finger when slicing the carrots _pale_ Thankfully it looked worse than it was. and the carrots were just about all done, so OH finished the prep and serving under my direction while I sat with a clean tea towel wrapped round the finger. It now has an Ikea Family kids' plaster on it,( with pics of cartoon cats), as they are the only plasters that stick properly.

it all tasted fine at any rate!

I am now downstairs at this ridiculous hour because OH is snoring and snorting and twitching. Every now and then he goes quiet, then just as I'm dozing off he starts up again, and I've given up trying to sleep for now. This is the fourth night in a row  I could understand it if he had a cold!

Going to see both DDs tomorrow, or rather later today, as it became evident DD2 and family were going to be late back from their friends' where they'd gone for lunch and to spend the afternoon. I'm really glad they've had a rare chance to relax for a while, they both work so hard.

Woke up to a white world and heavy snow on now :T:T
  • Ooh, exciting mar! We have strong winds, sleet, hail and rain but no snow.

Hope you are all having happy days, blissfully quiet here - apart from the WM doing its thing. The new kitchen coped very well, so much more worktop and much better organisation helps. I had a message from the builder yesterday asking if the 'hob did the job!'

Enjoy your day whatever you're up to, I'm going to catch up on TV programmes from yesterday, eat chocolate and drink gin!
  • We have snow. Shortly off to Braemar for family sledging. Joy.

    Cafe and hot chocolate calls.:D

Only 24hrs to survive. Definitely won't be staying up late. The men are having a whisky tasting session tonight. That might just be too much temptation considering the mood I'm in.
