Monna - you've met me!!! So glad DS fixed the oven so the usual mayhem can continue. Went to the family service at our local church tonight & thence to the pub round the corner. Alas no Brandy for me as I'm designated driver but a lovely evening with DS1 and good friends.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas with joy and festivities with your loved ones.
Will be a low key affair for me this year as working but also had to let my darling furface go yesterday so not really in the festive spirit but time heals all wounds and life must go on. Have so many happy memories which I hope will help.
Look forward to catching up with you soon xx0 -
Ah shanks, so sorry.0

Hugs Shanks, so sorry for your news.
Nursemaggie, you can freeze couscous, but sometimes there's salady bits in there that don't freeze well.
Christmas day here with a certain distant relative has left me cancelling all plans in February for our 10th wedding anniversary. ... the idea of spending any time near her more than is necessary is abhorrent! I had planned a bit of a party, but I wouldn't want to invite a few people, which would likely cause a rift. Maybe we'll go out for dinner as a couple.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Oh Softstuff, what a shame to feel you need to avoid a party, but at least it's enabled you to decide to do what's best for you. Is this the relative that refers to "The Abos next door", by any chance?
Shanks So sorry to hear about your furbaby ((HUGS))
monnagran So pleased the oven's fixed :T
We'll be eating at three-ish. The chicken is about 1lb heavier than I'd asked for, so the spuds will need to go in a separate roasting tin. I'm doing it Delia's way this year, using butter rather than our usual beef dripping (I don't like goose fat), and I've put bacon on the breast too. I don't think I've ever done that before0 -
Happy Christmas Fencers
I feel like I've got the hangover without having had the booze to cause it. Low key day here, and we've et all the damn cake already.
