LOL Monna! I am so sorry, I would've laughed too. Then gone back to bed for 48 hours with a bottle :rotfl::rotfl:

Oh no monna, what a nightmare! I think softstuff's idea is a good one.

I'm feeling lousy but have stripped the beds, dusted and hoovered, ironed said bedding and re-made the beds. All washing just about up to date, the final load is drying right now. Bathrooms cleaned and neighbour doing my last bits of shopping - forgot the leeks and stuffing!

I may lay on the sofa with a film on the TV, I'm bound to have a nap!

Oh Monna - reminds me of the Christmas day when my gas oven packed up -(thermostat went - just managed lukewarm) my lovely neighbour always has her Christmas dinner on Christmas eve and had a big range cooker - cue her and me ferrying food across to each other so she could cook it for me - we still laugh!
If you are really stuck I have a halogen oven and a gas ring I can bring over on the ferry???? Nah --- toasted sandwiches sound just as good ;)

Do hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and wishing you all a happy, healthy and peaceful 2017. Bless you all for being my 'virtual' chums

End of terrace...mixture of really nice furniture and quite worn out, no lock on bathroom, rattly doors in the wind, curtains are difficult and very long...do the job tho...the cupboards are full of misc. glassware, very special porcelain tea set and a dodgy coffee machine, a fridge which is not working tho the freezer is and only one key....seven of us are staying.wifi is flaky
Village is charming with really friendly people, great local shopping.
    And the weather is windy.
Promises to be a fun week....hope the rest of the party arrives from the south ok.
Not going to post for a few days so I wish you all a happy Christmas and peace for all.

Hmm, TiredTrophy, that certainly sounds interesting!

monna What a time for the oven to pack up! Glad they were able to laugh about it though.

Hester So sorry you had to brave the supermarket  We've only needed to go to the local shops today, so not too bad. Bakery for the loaf we'd ordered, butcher's for the chicken we'll have tomorrow. Co-Op for something quick for tonight's meal as i have a church service to go to at six o'clock and we'll have dinner when i get back.

I hope Yule went well for those of us who do Yule rather than Christmas :)

OH and I will be on our own for Christmas dinner (which we'll probably have in the evening). DS is going to a friend's. We're going to DD1 for Boxing Day tea, as long as DSIL's wisdom tooth infection has improved enough by then for him to be able to face socialising!

Silvasava, I have this wonderful picture of you climbing off the Wightlink ferry with halogen oven in one hand, a gas ring in the other and a casket of brandy round your neck.
No need. DS2 preformed some sort of magic with the dismembered bits of other electrical appliances and Eureka! We are cooking again.

Everything now ready. We are just waiting the arrival of DiLs parents. Her mother is now in a wheel chair and in the middle of chemo but determined not to miss her family Christmas. She will be surrounded by her husband, son, daughter, son in law, grandson and his fiance, granddaughter, step grandson and me. We have pulled all the stops out to make it special.

I am in my room with mug of tea, bag of coffee creams and listening to the nine lessons and carols from Kings College. This is MY Christmas. The singing is so beautiful that the tears are rolling down my cheeks. Soppy thing!

Well, you maintain the moral high ground Floss, it is a satisfying and subtle way of getting revenge.

Hope you soon feel better Camelot. A cold sounds innocuous but can make you feel wretched. Ask nursemaggie.

Have you sorted out your meat Hester? I hope you and your L&M manage to enjoy your brief respite.

TT, it sounds fascinating. Eccentric certailny, but what a story you will have to tell.

Nice to hear from you .melodramaticme. Don't be a stranger.

To all of you - Thank you for your company this past year. You will never know how much your care and concern has done to keep me afloat and sane. You are very special people and I wish you all the happiest of Christmases, however you are spending it.

See you all on the other side.

    xxxxxxxx

Too right monna. I think this is the worse I have ever had DS is still in bed.

We went to see the new Starwars film on Wednesday. I thought we would be coughing all the way through but thankfully we did not cough at all. We have a new cinema in the town centre, much easier to get to when you don't have a car. They have these fancy seats that the actual seat slopes backwards. It should keep kids from running around. I had my legs dangling about a foot from the ground.

When it finished my feet and legs had gone to sleep. I struggled to the end of the row and then I could not manage to get across to the railing to come down the stairs. I had to walk all the way back to the other end of the row where there was a hand rail all the way up and the stairs were not so wide. I don't think my feet have quite woke up yet.

I don't have too cook tonight Just been for some milk, I got three big salad tubs, two cuscus and one pasta lots of veg in them. I bought two Quiche Lorraine for 49p in the coop a couple of weeks ago so I have taken one out of the freezer. Can I freeze cuscus as I won't be able to eat it all up quick enough? If no one knows I will tell you an a few days if it works.
