Been to Mr S for last few bits can't get at Ald!. Stocked up on things neither Mr M nor Ald! sell. I really went to buy DS's favourite Chocolates. Saw some gorgeous dinner plates huge they were. Would have been nice for Christmas dinner but they were £10 each!

I have £350 in my PayPal account from surveys so I will treat myself to the dinner service that matches them. I don't have a cupboard big enough to put the large ones in. If they are in the sale after Christmas I may still buy two and stand them up in the glass cases on the dresser.

As I came out of Sainsbury's a Young girl came out with me, she said, "bit brisk!" as she flew one way and her hat went in the opposite direction. :rotfl: Was a job to stay upright the wind was all over the place. I am glad to be home.

Floss, I think I'd be stuffing his list somewhere.

Hope everyone survived the weather ok.

In bed being lazy right now. Worked an extra hour at work yesterday to cover for a lady who really needed it. Am no nearer anything xmas related, but watched a nice movie last night whilst eating cheese, meats and drinking wine :D we're going out for pizza tonight.

Hubby set to yesterday and cleaned the house, my ideal Christmas pressie. Might pop out for some groceries today.... and maybe wrap a few pressies.

Love to all my friends here, hope you have a warm, restful festive season xxx

Have retained the moral high ground by having a shower rather than bath, tidying all my stuff & mess up AND making tea, otherwise we'd have been having chicken, spuds & buttered leeks for breakfast :D Have also offered to iron his shirts after delivering the dinosaur cake at 8.30 tomorrow, given opinion on his attire for Christmas dinner (quite formal so kilt etc) and inhaled 2 glasses of wine!

  • We survived the drive in the wind and rain, and the rented cottage is eccentric....:)

Looking forward to hearing the meaning of 'eccentric' Tired Trophy!

The storm wasn't too bad here, we seem to have missed most of it but the rain has been epic.

Struggling with a heavy cold at the moment but have got everything done I think, wrapped the last of the presents last night before I went to bed at 9pm! I woke up at 1am sneezing but managed to get back off again until 6 so not a bad sleep.

If I don't get back on, hope you all have a peaceful Christmas.
  • Just unlurking to wish you all a :xmassign: and to say thank you for keeping me entertained and informed in 2016.

  • Bloody hell, just got a piece of meat out the fridge to cook and its got a threatening sticker on it from an animal rights group!
So now I need to trail to the supermarket to find out if it's likely to be contaminated, so much for a quiet and peaceful day avoiding the shops.
TT, eccentric as in interesting or eccentric as in nightmare?
    Nice to see you Melodramaticme.

Glory be! Our electric oven has just packed up. DIL stands surrounded by the chaos that is her preparing as much as possible in advance of tomorrow. DS2 is sitting on the floor surrounded by bits of electrical detritus. They are both laughing!

    Happy Christmas. Toasted sandwich anyone?
