One of DH's aunties who had five sons used to serve yorkies first and say the one who ate the most of the puddings could have the most meat.
DH was always disconcerted when served Yorkies with a meal instead of before but eventually got used to it. As a Scot it took me ages to get Yorkshire puddings right. My mum who was German was impressed with my Yorkshire puddings and I gave her the recipe years ago only to find when I asked her how they turned out "they were like pancakes!" I was really puzzled until I found out she had used the frying pan instead of the oven!!!!"This site is addictive!"

Don't worry Nursemaggie, they're not around to trouble you anymore
Floss, I'm an experienced huntress, from a long line of hunters. You could trust my dad with £1000 quid on the table, but a bar of chocolate could not be left unattended.
Floss, you've given me an idea, not for baking though, I might pop in and see my local cafe owner and buy some of his homemade biscotti for a pressie.
OI, Softstuff. That's cheating. Homemade usually means 'made in YOUR home'.
The whole ethos of HM involves a lot of suffering on your part. You don't get away with calling something homemade if it was made in the local cafe. Where's the pain in that?
Ah. I've just remembered. My beloved Dad laboured under the delusion that I made a Chistmas pudding every year. He boasted to his friends about the superbness of my Christmas puds.
Local Co-op and 4 minutes in the microwave.
I really must look out my festive sackcloth.
Mar. Are you OK up there? I've just seen the weather forecast for Scotland. Sounds horrific. Stay indoors petal. Even better, stay in bed. Thinking of you and all my Scottish friends.I believe that friends are quiet angels

My ex MIL used to complain bitterly about how little meat I served with a meal, she also hated my 'Hunt the Fish Pie'.
But then she was the one who told my then husband that £10 a week housekeeping for a family of 6 was very generous!Chin up, Titus out.0 -
The bad stuff is further north than me monna, WCS is right in the middle of it. BBC Scotland says all the islands are cut off now until Sat afternoon, and the Lerwick branch of Tesco got a x5 the usual size of delivery on the last ferry lol to make sure they don't run short over christmas! Windy here but that's all - up north they're already having heavy snow, hail, thunder & lightning - and the winds are forecast to hit 90 mph.0

I'm here <waving> power on and off and fishing finished for the duration. There's heavy snow over the Rest but sleet/hail here. Hunkering down now for the duration I suspect - have a joyous and peaceful Christmas if I don't get back until after xxx0

Same to you WCS!! sit tight and be a bug in a rug!0
