Mum rang earlier and asked if I was sure she should come for Christmas with my arm being so bad :mad:told her she had better Bl**dy well come as I have decorated the bedroom specially. Luckily she laughed :p

Going to run the curtains up tomorrow and a couple of cushions for the living room. Apart from that I am just pottering and hoping to find the gifts I hid.

Made some jam to make room in the freezer, so homegrown strawbs, redcurrant, raspberries and a couple of apples. rather yummy and if it doesn't set it can go on ice cream or in slices Monna :T

Picked a doll up from the CS weeks ago for little Dgd but suddenly realised its naked so am trying to knit something but my arm wont play so it may end up just in knickers and boots which Dgd wont mind I am sure.

Well done you Ginny. What ice cream would be enhanced by a covering of molten Clementine Marmalade do you think? The way it is slopping about in the jars suggests that anyone stupid enough to try eating it on toast would be well advised to find a plate with a moat.

I don't know how old your dgd is but my resident diva would thoroughly approve of the knickers and boots outfit.
As would Hester, although she might consider the knickers superfluous.

    Must use my stash up!
  • monna I think it may be there is not enough pectin in your clementine marmalade (thinner skins) if it is really runny can I suggest you buy a grapefruit and a large orange tomorrow add a little more sugar and the grapefruit & orange and boil it again. the pectin is in the pith and clementines don't have much.

If it is not too runny other suggestions for deserts are it could be added to fruitcake two tablespoons before cooking, chocolate cheesecake, between two chocolate sponges.

For eating it on toast I would suggest wearing one of those plastic bibs that have the well at the bottom to catch the drips. :rotfl::rotfl: They come in adult sizes. They are not all plastic now they have a toweling bit that fastens round the neck and to the plastic bit with poppers.
  • I was waiting for that comment Monna, lol.
I managed an epic fail last time I made Mamade marmalade and that takes some skill!
I thought I'd wake up early and have a good long worry, sod's law as I could have a lie in this morning, heyho, I'll get on with my crochet for a couple of hours.

That does take skill, I was about to say that I use mamade because is never goes wrong and I can't be bothered to chop all the marms.

Also awake earlier than I need to be, so I might as well catch a train earlier than planned...
I wanna be in the room where it happens

I make whisky Mamade to keep my brothers happy! Maybe the runny clementine goo could be draped artistically over a steamed sponge pudding?

I think the marmalade would be much improved with whisky. Anything, including me, is much improved with whisky.

It's also a way to use the Laphroaig that my brother gives us, that only he drinks!
