  • Nice to see you Sheila, well done on the weight loss.
It's a year today since hubby lost his lovely Mum and tomorrow would have been her birthday, He's been recommended to try CBT but instead is being sent to try a different type of therapy, so why suggest CBT then?
Seems strange to me, if I have an ear infection I don't visit an osteopath. Anyway, it's 11 miles and 3 buses away, in the evening so I can't drive him as I can't see in the dark. There are 6 sessions of which he can only attend 4 because of the shift system at work.
I did suggest he speak to HR about not being able to attend all the sessions, but our HR lady is off sick, probably with stress!
    Chin up, Titus out.

I'm scared of chimney fires, have seen some big ones although never had one. The RV is a total nutter anywhere near fire so I'm always on edge.
  • Morning,

Sheila it is so nice to see you and to hear that you're thriving! Well done on looking after yourself.

Hester, therapy appointments should be treated like medical appointments and your L&M should be excused to attend them, end of. I'm sure they'll try to wriggle out of it, but really that is just the limit! I wouldn't worry about it not being CBT--a good therapist will work with him and find something that works no matter what it is called!

    Burtha how scary!

Well I'm working from home today. I have leftover mac and cheese for my lunch and will have to do a salad as we ate all of the veg last night. Tea tonight is Salmon tacos. I have several errands to run today--including collecting a parcel from the sorting office and I'm hoping to get in a walk although the weather looks dicey. I did get to the gym yesterday and it was nice but I did feel very run down so I won't be chancing it if it is raining at walk time.

Hugs to all who need them.x

Lovely to 'see'you again Sheila. Glad DH is still happy and contented and well done on looking after you and the weight loss.
Hoping Monna can update us on the gossip from her trip when she's recovered from the marathon lunch!
Hester FPK is right - if DH's company want him to attend the sessions they are obliged to give him the time off to attend instead of adding to the stress!
I know the appraisal system is pants but play the game so there's nothing they can beat you with.
Been freezer rummaging & found some bolognese that we had last night and a chicken & mushroom pie for tonight. Came back from the rellies at the weekend with a cough so hav'n't been out for the last two days. Got a bit more energy today so will set to on the downstairs and get the kitchen floor washed. Have a committee meeting tonight & it's one of the members birthday so a few sherbets will be consumed! Not by me though as I'll be driving.
Have a good day all x
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Thank you all so much for welcoming back on board ......To think we have been posting for years on MSE , well most of us have .........I loved reading through all your names on their posts , saying to myself " oh yea I remember you and you and you , really feel like old friends gathering together and its so lovely atmosphere.....

Yes ive got 60 hens all laying , all looking good , I so love my hens , the garden would be dead without them ...Madartha....Im still taking the sea kelp , dare not stop them now as id probaly go back to walking in a constant daze again..........I also take vitamin D , and glaucosamine .......

I lost the weight through the diabetic hospital telling me my health wasnt as good as it should and that a few things are showing signs of wear and tear , so on that day last December 12 th I decided I to start dieting , dr asked me to try and lose a stone from that day to end of March when I next go to hospital , I lost my first stone by January 4, then lost one stone a month for 3 months , then slowed up to lose the other 2 stone by September this year , ive gone from size 22 to 12 .............I still go to the diet club and usually lose about 1 pound per wk......I was 15.7 stone , so im feeling so good......

My diet now is roughly this , breakfast as always porridge , a pear apple and orange about 10 ish.....plate of salad for lunch , more fruit mid afternoon , evening meal jacket spud with chicken or ham salad , or meat with loads of veg ......Drinks evening diet caffeine free coke .....Drink lots of decaff coffee and tea all day ........So I never really went without much food as im insulin dependant , I just cut out crisps, biscuits , cakes , chocolate , and I walked the dog longer ........Its the usual I think for most people if you cut the crap you will lose weight , but sometimes you need a scare from the drs to go ahead with losing weight ...................It has been hard at times on the eating plan but when the weight started to drop each week I just couldnt go back to eating the rubbish that got me fat , alot of my weight went on when I had hubby at home looking after him 24/7 I did comfort eat far too much.......

I dont like these long dark winter nights , and my SAD hit me hard last week so im on anti depressants for a couple of months again , I get this every year , and I dread October coming knowing it will get me down , the pills will get me back on track again , and plus we wont be long and the new year will soon be with us .......

I will carry on reading all your posts , as its lovely that most of you are still here ....Love Sheila ..xx
My motto is " one life live it ".....:)
  • Sheila lovely to hear that you are doing so well, and really well done on the weight loss - I now have arthritis and put on a bit of weight, but it's slowly coming off now. It's the comfort/tired eating that does it eh???

    I have 2 chickens :-) suspect you're a bit busier!!!!

Hester, sorry but bloody sods!!!!! surely it will all end for you soon, and you can get back to some peace and quiet??

Floss happy days with the job, and softstuff yeah for taking to the role so quickly. Hi to everyone else - loving reading along with you all even though I don't post so often - consider me a silent cheerleader!!! :-)

Sheila how lovely to hear from you again. I was thinking about you the other day and remembered you and your husbands name but couldn't remember your MSE name was going to ask about you and up you pop spooky eh?
Congrats on the weight lose that is fantastic if only I could do the same.
Glad hubby is doing well and enjoying his "home" must take the pressure off of you.
60 chickens? Wow my sis kept them but not as many ( she also had ducks and Rheas) and she loved them. Personally didn't see the appeal but I know a lot of folk on here rave about them.

I loved my wee chickens and still miss them. I regret not saving harder and having more money available to build a better enclosure, with a roof. If I had done that then I'd still have them. The RV and eldest son did a fine job building a big netted pen, but we didn't put on a roof and when it was wet it was a nightmare - plus the RV kindly made the door 4ft high so that when I had flu and was really ill, he couldn't squeeze in and had to chuck feed through the wire lol. I had to clean it all up as soon as I was on my feet again. But they gave me a reason to get up and get moving every morning - I liked having somebody to look after. :D
  • Morning all,

Another gloomy one here. I did manage a walk yesterday, just after lunch but it was a short one. It cleared some cobwebs. OH has an open evening tonight so I'll cobble something together for my tea before heading out to my craft group. I'm also due for a gym visit today, although I haven't yet decided if I'll go at lunch or at the end of my work day.

Maggie the cat has a new favoured spot--a blanket under the radiator. She spends most of the day there and then mid afternoon heads off to her radiator hammock for a proper sleep. Must say, I sometimes envy her!

Hugs to all who need them.x
