mar Floss is going to be making cakes and desserts for a pub that sells nice food, if I read it correctly
Hope to go to M & S today to see if I can get some of their joggers - they have some with just a drawstring, without any elastic, and they are the only trousers I can wear comfortably for any length of time. My old ones are getting worn out and look very scruffy, so time to bite the bullet and spend some money :eek:0 -
Morning all,
Congratulations Floss! It sounds like a very rewarding and fun job
Nursemaggie, we've had lots of fireworks around here as well. We're close to several big parks that do public displays--I don't mind those, but we also have lots of neighbours who buy their own. Unfortunately they aren't all as conscientious as I'd like. We had some, drinking heavily, setting them off right behind the house Friday. Fortunately we'd had rain that day so everything was very soggy. If they'd been at it only a day or two before when things were very dry I'd have been even more worried. They were lucky no one walked into them as many use the alley as a cut through and wouldn't have realized they were walking around the corner right into where they were setting them up. OH and I slept with earplugs all weekend. Maybe I'm just an old party pooper but I wish sales were more restricted and people were encouraged to enjoy the public displays.
Back into the full swing today. Morning chores done apart from washing which has just finished and needs hanging out, bags packed for later and work tasks for this morning lined up. Leftover veggied stew for lunch today and OH is making an aubergine curry for tea tonight (just a jar sauce with aubergines and other veggies).
Hugs to all who need them.x0 -
