  • It's -1C here in the Pennines this morning but luckily no sign of the dreaded white stuff so far. Bedding was changed to the brushed cotton/ flannel stuff yesterday.

Hi everyone. I'm back from my hols/peace keeping mission. I tell you, I'm a loss to the diplomatic service. my tongue is quite sore from the biting it has had.

I have walked straight back into cooking for Lunch Club tomorrow. Beef casserole and Sticky Toffee pud for 60.

After that I will find out what has been going on recently. So far I have gathered that Floss has a new job that everyone (especially Mar) is falling over themselves to help her with.
    Jellybaby tester?

Hope you are all well. See you soon.

Greenbee, I'm cross eyed today, it was bedlam at work and again I was on my own for a while. Others say I'm doing well, but I honestly felt more like I was drowning than waving today. There's so much to learn and every time I'm left alone something happens I know nothing about!

Now, as for Floss, I'm fully expecting the full range to be on our shelves soon. Worldwide. Like Paul Newman, with her face on the package.

She is making desserts and cakes etc for a posh pub :j

Are you really cooking for 60? Blimey, I get flustered cooking for eight;)

Have decided to have a duvet day and wrap a few presents, watch tv, read a book and charge up my batteries for a busy weekend. I am surprising youngest with her favourite meal - chicken pancakes.
Trying to work out how long it will take to make eighteen pancakes from scratch, not to mention the tomato base, cheese sauce and chicken and mushroom mix.

Elona that sounds nice how about the recipe.

Monna welcome back, any jellybaby tasting and I'll fight mar for that. I don't eat sweets very often but I love jellybabies and American hard gums. DS and I fight over the green ones. Sometimes I wish he did not like the same as me but other times, like what to have for dinner I do wish he did like it like salmon. I have to wait for him to be off his food or until I go to DDs.

She cooked some lovely spicy salmon while I was in Malta and a nice Moroccan fish stew. SiL also did nice fish. They are both good cooks. One advantage of having globetrotting relatives is the variety of their cooking.

Do you ever knit in the cat's fur when you are knitting Mar I knit in my own hair and have to pull the hair out.

I would take you up on the offer with the JBs if postage was not so expensive.

I got the idea from Shirley Goode years ago. It is simple but can be time consuming if you make it for a lot of people.

For one portion - make a couple of thin pancakes - spread with home made tomato and onion sauce - add cooked diced chicken and mushroom in a little white sauce on top - roll up the pancakes - put in baking dish and cover with white sauce and grated cheese and bake for about 25 minutes.

I have just been very efficient and ordered winter/ emergency supplies online which will be delivered on Thursday morning. Bottled water in 5 litre containers, tea, coffee, long life milk, bread flour, plain flour, yeast, tins of chick peas to make my own, houmous, crispbreads, rice, stuffing mix, toilet rolls and even a new single duvet and sheet for the new day bed upstairs with a pair of pillows. I even bought a delivery pass for £10 which pays for midweek deliveries for the next three months.
