I don't think Mardatha will even be able to keep a straight face now thinking of the bunch of reprobates marching alongside her.

I can contribute a rather deadly stare to the mix. Apparently, when pushed, I have a stare and an aura that says "don't mess with me fool". It's only been deployed a couple of times, but according to onlookers can be fearsome :o

Softstuff. I have the deadly "teacher's stare" known to quell hundreds of unruly children in a nano-second. My own children greeted it with derision but it was effective in most circumstances.

    Spot on Mila!

We have been divorced for 34 years and the law only caught up with him about 3 years ago. The court case was last year - sexual abuse of minors. Not his own children, thank goodness, he was not interested in them in any way, but he was a master in a boys prep school, and obviously made the most of it. It makes me sick to think about it and I am appalled at how naive I was.
It all came out in court at exactly the same time as I was in emotional turmoil over something completely different. 2015 is the year my world disintegrated around me.

    Still, the earth still turns.

Oh Monna. It's too late to try to teach my granny how to suck eggs or try to find words to make the situation a bit better but you don't need it now eh? You're getting there, with every telling off you give me and every post that shows such depth of wit. It's been great getting you back. Maybe leaving the island while you had to deal with all that was life's way of protecting you. Back home now and although battered, bruised, annoyed and sad they can be baggage that you can cart off over the water... Just mind silvasava doesn't scoop it up on her boatie travels!

Goodnight and good luck to making head nor tail of the above. A bit delirious with the flu dammit. X

Monna, that is such an incredibly sickening thing to have happen to you and your children. It never registered on your radar because you didn't know to even look for something that offensive. I was duped big time too only my ex was a serial womanizer and I never knew it until my last child was six weeks old. I later found out there had been many other women. I also did a lot of I should have known. But, just like you, I never in my life would have thought to even suspect this type of behavior.
The thing that haunts me is what all of this has done to my children. They are all sweet, responsible, and fantastic adults but it really hurts when someone as close as a parent turns out to be a despicable human being. I've kicked myself a thousand times for choosing him in the first place. But I would not have my precious children if it weren't for his DNA. I always try to find something positive to get me through.

  • What a wonderful thread, and what a wonderful bunch of people on here.

I'll keep this short as my last 2 post haven't shown up, maybe I've been banned.
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Morning all,

Monna and Mila I'm so sorry to hear about how difficult your ex H's have been, but I am glad that the law has caught up with both of them. Apparently it is very common that those closest to criminals never really know what they're up to.

Hester They wouldn't dare ban you!

Fuddle Do you have the flu? Or have I misread? Oh dear.

I must say I'm relieved it is Friday. It has felt like a week of roller coasters and today probably won't be any better but at least I know nothing NEW will happen over the weekend. I also have my lovely yoga class this evening which is very calming and relaxing. We've been on break for several weeks and I do miss it. It helps me leave the week behind, I call it my weekly luxury! OH made pizza dough last night so we're having that for tea. I'll have to sort myself out something for lunch as we're now out of leftovers. The weather has most definitely turned this morning, cool damp and gray outside.

I cut back the geraniums (they've become very spindly this year!) and cut the faded blooms from the hydrangea yesterday. It is a bright pink colour and fades to a nice mauve. They're lined up on the chimney piece to dry and add a bit of colour. A great suggestion from Mrs LW!

I don't dare to do any washing today as we're under a storm warning again. It is supposed to clear in the next couple of hours and be sunny but the warning is through this evening.

Hugs to all who need them, even the lurkers.x
  • Oh my i've opened a box of worms rather than a box of frogs!!
Monna keep strong dear lady, we're all with you. Mila you too - life is a challenge isn't it???
Fuddle take care of that flu, don't want it to turn to pneumonia again!
