  • Fuddle I was given an inhaler when I had pneumonia to assist in opening up my airways. The first time I had it, I only found out as had a stabbing pain in my back, radiating down my arm, and when I 'phoned up the surgery they thought I was having a heart attack! I had walking pneumonia several times early this year, but only the first time was I seriously ill. I had several lots of anti-b's until clear, but it took a lot longer for the congestion in my lungs to clear, and exercise made it hard to breath until very recently - and that's been since the start of the year. Now I just feel tired, but fine. I'm being very very careful with my health now!
Monna and Mila, my experiences with exH are nothing as bad as yours - mine is just a bit of a sod - my heart goes out to you, but you're both strong women and I'm so happy you're both able to move on from this and re-build your lives. I know how hard it was for me, and as I say it was nothing like your experiences. Good on ya!!!
  • Mon na, have just read back a few pages and I am so sad to think you had this horrendous experience. Most sexual abusers seem quite clever and controlling and often groom in very subtle ways. Horrible to think of the worry you will have had.

Will go baking to my lurky tendencies now. But before I do, sorry to hear of poorly people xx
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

I've just picked up my shears & secateurs from being sharpened, so am ready to join the attack. I will be wearing my allotment jumper with the "blood" stains (actually beetroot & raspberry juices!) to add to the general ambience!

Ooh ooh I forgot my gardening tools! I have plenty of those. I'll bring my mattock. :D

  • As an American I, of course, have a gun. Shooting the ceiling with grandpa's shotgun tends to get people's attention. (Only to be used in extreme circumstances and as a last ditch effort.;):D:cool::rotfl: ) We're there for you Mar!!

So there you are Mar. Your army is good to go. All guns are oiled, all garden tools sharpened, buckets and cauldrons filled, arrows freshly poisoned, rolling pins polished, hooks and cutlasses shined, all Hester's dominatrix's equipment dusted off and knitting needles honed to fearsome points.
Uniform is ready for inspection, armour has been brassoed, eye patches adjusted, and garden jumpers freshly smeared with blood.
Even the elephant has had a wash and brush up.
The blood curdling stares have been rehearsed to perfection.

Gather your papers together, my love, and into battle we go.

I can never thank you lot enough. I have always been the care giver, the fixer upper, the smoother over, the one in control.
To admit to my vulnerability has been the most difficult thing I have ever done but you have all made it OK for me. There cannot be a more compassionate, sensitive, caring bunch of friends anywhere.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  • Lovely post Monna.
So I've been up since 4:30 I've made a proper picnic lunch for me & DD for our day at the workshop.
I've driven my L&M to the station and got home without driving into any bus lanes. His decision today could change our lives for ever!
All before 7am I've delivered an Ebay parcel to the local buyer and I've had an Ebay buyer on the doorstep to collect a sold item
I have to admit he looked a bit scared as I was in full leather gear and holding a whip. I was having a dress rehearsal for when Mar needs us.
    Fuddle, take care of yourself.
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Morning all,

A day of chores here as tomorrow we'll be celebrating the golden wedding of OH's parents. Last thing before my yoga class yesterday I was told my work is delayed yet again. Fortunately we did lots of deep breathing and relaxing in yoga ;) I've just finished the menus for next week. I've had to re-arrange the first day of autumn beef stew that I'm making with some YS beef I've had stashed in the freezer as we'll both be out that evening, but it will be lovely next Saturday. We had a beautiful harvest moon here last night--lovely and bright.

Had a lovely experience yesterday. I went in for some routine medical testing a few weeks ago and was very, very nervous (as usual). The nurse was lovely and patient and suggested I might be given something to help with the nerves for any future tests of this or any other sort (blood tests are the worst for me). She then followed up with the doctor to check it was fine, had a note put on to say I was allowed it and phoned me up yesterday to let me know that if I have to go in for any sort of test and I'm feeling wobbly to phone up and get a prescription. I must confess I'm nervous about taking the medication as well but she went so above and beyond, taking the time to follow up when she didn't have to both with me and the doctor. Even if I decide not to use it, it was so lovely of her to take time out of her schedule to make sure I knew what help there was and make sure I had access. I know her first name so I'm hoping I'll be able to leave good feedback for her.

Mar--if I could send vibes from this lovely nurse to your consultant I would!

Monna even the bravest and strongest among us must have support and comfort. Big hugs.

Hester, my fingers are crossed for you. I take it there may be a house decision today? May it have roses round the door no matter how small.

Monna - to show vulnerability also shows great strength. The Barmy Army on here will always do battle for those who are in need.

Mila - I have a mental picture of you now like Ma Clampett!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Hope you recover soon fuddle, you have certainly been through it lately. monna and mila, you are strong ladies, may you continue to be so.

Wasn't feeling too good last night (head full of cotton wool and sore throat) so went to bed early, was probably asleep by 9. Apart from a toilet stop and coughing fit slept till 7.30 this morning. Feel a bit better so hopefully it will fade.
  • Mila Ma Clampett has long been a role model of mine - what a woman!!! :rotfl:
Haven't seen that programme for ages, will look on you tube later whilst I'm stitching and resting.

    keeping everything crossed Hester x
