Awh thankyou all, and I'm sorry to make such a huge song & dance about it. I seem to be very uptight about it all, which isn't like me. I might not even see the heifer, it might an underling. I don't know if that will a relief or a disappointment lol
  • Good luck mar, we'll all be thinking of you x
  • Good luck Mar we will all be with you inspirit.
  • All the best mar, let me know what time to start the bus!

Just been for a lovely meal at a friends house, good chat and a glass of wine too, perfect end to the weekend.

Well Mardatha, I haven't booked a flight over. Instead I'm on standby here with a safe house in case you all do something dramatic and need to flee the country. There's plenty of room as long as Monna doesn't bring the elephant. Maybe I've been watching too much Sons of Anarchy....

  • Just popping in to let Mar know I'm thinking of her, you are not making a song and dance at all, you are worried and rightly so if you've already had a bad experience with this consultant.

I'm catching the 7:30 bus this morning to my local hospital, not Mar's though I'll be with her in spirit. I can't drive there as it's an ophthalmology appointment and I can't see to drive after I've had my eyes jolloped and anyway it's a nightmare to park at the hospital.

Hey up our Scottish pal, just think MAD MAX and you'll be a bit closer to the look plus we're all taking our demeanour from GQs Nursie!!! Look out world, here comes OSers!!!
:D Nursie is about to land her rocket ship at the end of Mar's road. I dispatched her northwards at sparrow-fart o'clock.

Mar, get that kettle on double-quick, she likes her tea strong enough to corrode teaspoons. She will be standing at your elbow throughout the consultation. If necessary, she will be standing on an elbow, preferably the doctor's, but with Nursie you never can tell. Be careful of her, she's the defcon 3 of personal assistants.:rotfl:

Nursie has her orders from moi. She is a wumman not afraid to do what's necessary, if push comes to shove between a rock and hard place. Indeed, she would positively relish the opportunity!

G'luck, Mar, wishing you well today.

  • Morning all,

Mar Best of luck today. I'm not sure if that applies to the consultant or Nursie so just have some luck for both!

Monna and WCS I love hearing tales of ingenuity and creativity. I wouldn't ever want to cope with the shortages and restrictions (or the fear and heartbreak) of the war and the years after but I am absolutely fascinated by all of the ways in which challenges were met. I do the odd re-make of charity shop clothes and I do make some of my own but I'm not that skilled yet. My mum is very skilled, but these days she prefers things like embroidery and quilting which aren't my cup of tea.

Hester I'm sorry to hear there was no success over the weekend, but a good night's sleep sounds like exactly what you need!

:mad:Ivy that gas leak sounds very annoying. I do hope you enjoy the hotel stay!

Today I'll be phoning up to see if I can get a haircut at the training academy at some point in the near future. I also have lunch time yoga. I sleep much better when I go regularly, Mar I often feel like I have to work very hard to remember to step off the hamster wheel, for me yoga helps with that. I'm not very good at meditating, but I'm getting better at quieting my mind.

I also have various work tasks to get on with while I wait for my next project to eventually arrive. I have leftovers from yesterday's party for my lunch. I'm not sure which meal is for tea tonight. I'd better get started on morning chores and start my day.

Whoever it was who had a cottonwool head (Softstuff? Camelot? I'm hopeless!) I hope you're feeling better. OH is fighting off the first cold of the school year. I'm hoping I don't get it. :(

Hugs to all who need them and Shanks and Pollyanna nice to see you both posting.

Thanks fencers, all of you xxxxx. The RV is a biker and his fav prog was Sons of Anarchy softstuff - and he's sticking to my other elbow.
Still gorgeous summer weather up here, last few days been sunny and breezy. Just wished I'd had the energy to so some deep cleaning and curtain washing.
Better go and put on the warpaint- will report back later.
