Gas leak all sorted :j OH had paid for 2 nights at the hotel, but I told him I'm sorry but if he wants to sleep there again tonight he'll be on his own! I really didn't have a good night. The room got very chilly during the evening, so OH turned the heat up (I can't see the controls well enough), but then he didn't turn it down far enough at bedtime, so I kept waking up far too hot.
As my tummy was hurting into the bargain, I spent a couple of hours awake wishing I was at home! Then at breakfast the coffee machine was out of order, one of the lifts was out of order, and when OH went to pay for the car park the machine near where we'd parked was out of order so we had to trek round to find the other one, which turned out to be at the opposite end and through a door.(As mila said on another thread, I'll take a little cheese with that whine)
mardatha thoughts are with you, hope it all goes well xx0 -
Ivyleaf Glad to see the gas leak is sorted thanks for the welcome back . I was afraid no one remembered me , did anyone ever fix my neglected part of this fence ?
I am wondering at Mars use of the word warpaint , normal make-up or actual warpaint !
Well with all the weapons with her from the DW elephant and now the dreaded Nursie hopefully all bases are covered , although I am concerned about who will end up with Nursie when her work today is done . At least little Henry will be getting some respite but I wonder if GQ is not leaving her unfettered as that doesn't bear thinking about .
Lovely to catch up will the insanity which is the fence . Re my thoughts on a TV version I decided last night it wouldn't get past the censors
Take care all

I'm back from the hospital, I now have macular traction in my right eye, I had it in my left eye, had surgery, a sodding great needle stuck in my eye, the procedure split my retina so the sight in my left eye is already bu&&ered. Now I have to look forward to the same procedure in the other eye so probably both eyes will be bu&&ered.
Hey ho, some good news I got both my hearing aids replaced as the tubes were getting hard.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Just done a quick google on that one Hester - as I'd never heard of it.
Result - _pale_.
Fingers crossed you manage to find an alternative way to deal with it. Just off to google if there is a non-invasive method of treatment.0 -
Sorry to hear about your other eye Hester, its a horrid horrid thing! Good news about your new hearing aids though :-)0

Hester - sorry to hear of your eye problems - do hope something positive can be done for you. Wondering how Mar got on today - fingers crossed .Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Hester so sorry to hear about your eyes. Some people seem to get all the troubles.0

Well that's me all sorted, now we transfer the fleet to Hester. Hope things work out ok for you pet xx.
I had good news and bad news.
Good bit first - my appt was 9.30 and at 10am we were still sat outside The Heifer's office. J moaned at a nurse and she got us in to see a junior consultant next door!!:D:D
She was lovely, but had concerns about my BP which was 163/110. I said no that's just because I was wound up today - didn't say why!
So the bad news is that it is primary Addisons, and she can't increase the meds because of that high BP. I'm getting a 24 hr monitor and am sure that will show a more normal number.
Also to get my head looked (MRI) and go back in 4 months. I just hope somebody increases the meds before then as I don't fancy feeling like this until Jan.
So I think this sorts me out and I won't need to go private so just saved meself £400. I THINK I DESERVE A SWEETIE. I DO I REALLY DO. Will get the RV to get me some! And I will send some to Hester as well0 -
Mar Would you like the jelly babies factory ? maybe we could start a go fund me page . Hope you sleep tonight x
Hugs to Hester x
Am I the only one who thinks this has been one heck of a year for bad news ?

Ta Daahhhhhhh!!!!! Oh yes yes yes you do deserve a sweetie, in fact you deserve a big sweetie of any kind you fancy. Glad the ordeal is over and that although it's like the curates egg 'good in parts' you at least now DO have a correct diagnosis. Good place to start and make life the best it can be petal, your blood pressure was going to be sky high under the circumstances though wasn't it? and it WILL come down and the monitor will give accurate readings and then they will hopefully be able to adjust the medications and make you feel better. Well done love, proud of you xxx.
HESTER just say the word and we'll all be down from Scotlandshire to escort you to hospital too, led of course by Field Marshall NURSIE if GQ can spare her for that long, good heavens does the NHS have any idea of what they have unleashed upon this unsuspecting country??? Best fun we've had in years though with the dressing up and rolling pins, OS is ace!!!0
