I know what you mean and the "jury is out" re bad vibes in the house and whether "cleansing/protecting" it works.
I tend to take the view that "maybe/maybe not - but no harm done to actually do so" and do. There is no way of proving if that's the reason why my last house and current house both "could" have had burglaries and electrical fires that were possibilities in the event due to things that happened - but they didn't do so. Maybe it's coincidence that that is the case? Maybe the "protection" worked? Who knows?
I did read a newspaper article, I seem to recall, a while back about a street of houses that suffered frequent burglaries and the vast majority of them had been hit several times - but there were a few that hadn't been hit at all. Hmmm.....maybe there would be an obvious physical reason for the difference if I walked down that street (eg much more open to view and would-be burglars more likely to get spotted or the occupants were in a lot and "on their guard"?) or, on the other hand = who knows? The jury is out on that.
On matters of a more "earthly" nature re houses - I've just found a pair of (Habitat) muslin curtains have disintegrated into shreds on me:mad:. Huh? How did that happen? Google hasn't provided any clues when I "asked it" why.
Is that something that happens at some point to muslin curtains and so = darn it and I have to use net curtains instead?
I have another pair of muslin curtains bought from elsewhere and I've just cautiously tried to see if they are going to disintegrate too and, if they are okay next time I wash them - then I guess I can still buy muslins - just not from "Habitat"....0 -

Hello everyone, I am on an all time low today. If it wasn't for a special person among you, well I don't know. Anyway, I have just discovered when unpacking my shopping, that the washing-up liquid has leaked over everything in the bag! So chin up, I'll stop moaning, and ask your advice once more.
I was looking for a thread, that compared prices of the same product. I took your advice but could not find a thread like I have described. I know everyone here lives in a different part of the country, so the prices would have to state North, South etc. If I am baffling you (a real trait of mine), I will give an example: Nivea Men's Shaving Gel- £2.98 in Savers, £3 in Wilko but only £1.50 in Tesco(special offer). I am one of those that really does shop around. Is there a thread like this? Would it even work, if I started one? I welcome your comments.

I tend to check it before preparing my shopping list for the week to see where the bargains are.Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama0 -
Hi Tips
Sorry to hear you're feeling low. The washing up liquid sounds very annoying, but at least it wasn't something sticky!
I'm not sure a price comparison thread would be all that useful as prices change so quickly and differ so much by region and everyone buys different things. I think it would soon get too difficult to find the information you need. I think Mysupermarket mentioned above is probably better for this. It isn't that it isn't a good idea, just that by the time you got enough information the thread would be so monstrously long you'd never find anything and it would be bound to be out of date by the time you did.0 -
Greaat news Ivyleaf.
I've just posted this on the Daily Thread, but will it here as well.
Hubby had a phone call this afternoon from a friend, they've been friends since secondary school, last year they went to a motorbike race event, I have no idea why but they fell out and haven't spoken since, until the phone call this afternoon, friends wife is dying, will not survive past the weekend, she's in her early 50's. She was told 3 or 4 years ago to stop drinking but couldn't, her liver has failed, they won't even move her to intensive care as nothing can be done.
They have lived with the wife's father for the last 5 or 6 years, long story concerning hubby's friend not working and the 2 men have never got on, so once the wife dies, hubby's friend will be homeless, guess who he's moving in with? Yep, us. I can't stand the guy, he is rude and abrasive. O Happy Days!!!!
I know I could say no, but I couldn't see him or anyone else homeless when I have a spare room.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
