ivyleaf, I read your 'silver corpse' in your post! I think I'm tired.0

I did the same thing Camelot. I think I'll just got an knit--about all I'm good for at the moment!x0

I read solver corpse too, lol.
I woke at 1am with a panic attack and it's still going strong, bloody things are driving me mad.
Another 4 bin bags left the house today, 2 into the bin, 2 to the charity shop. We've had no rain for a few days so I had to water the lawn today of the person I'm cat sitting for, she's getting her money's worth, I'm feeding 2 cats, 2 tanks of fish watering 15 indoor plants upstairs and down, squirting 6 air plants and watering 3 outdoor gardens, heyho, think of the money!Chin up, Titus out.0 -
I reckon you're all just worn out!
nursemaggie are you and DS okay? I don't think you've posted for a while. Thinking of you.0 -
I was wondering about nursemaggie as well, Ivyleaf. I hope you are both OK and that DS has got over the disappointment over his job.

Managed to get some fence paint in "Silver Copse", the nearest b & q had to a bluey-grey. Where do the people on all the property renovation programmes find all these different coloured paints???
I wanted some finials for the gateposts too, but they were awful
Ivyleaf, do they not mix paint now at paint shops? Haven't bought paint in England for more than 10 years, over here though you can get paint mixed to any colour just at the DIY store. I like that sort of bluey grey, thinking of it for my little bit of bathroom wall.
Hester, hope you manage to put an end to the panic attacks when you've moved and are stable again.
I hope you enjoyed your lunch Monnagran.
I'm concerned about NurseMaggie too. Hope they're ok.
My contractor is still here. Whinge of the day #209, he narrates his every damned move, expects a standing ovation every time some little thing is done and vanishes to do other things in between my job. Nothing extraordinary, but I'm getting quite tense (understatement).Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
I faxed the bank release of our mortgage, for when we paid it off, to our insurance company. I didn't realize this was my responsibility to let them know.... Live and learn. Now the money can be released and paid into my checking account to replace the floors the plumber tore up when he replaced the drain. I'm hoping the engineered wood floor color is still available because I love it. The tile floor really needed to be updated so that actually has worked out well.
The rental home work turned out beautifully and we will definitely use that contractor again. Precise, picky, on time, wonderful to work with!
My sweet DH's hand is withering. He had the opportunity about five years ago to have an operation to release an encased nerve and refused. He was told what would happen and ignored that message. Now, he wants all those wasted years to be undone and I seriously doubt at this point that there will be much available that can help him. I just don't understand the sticking your head in the sand mentality. I begged him, our children (one of whom is a doctor) all talked to him, but no! He was not going to have that surgery. Now he is full of regret. I have no impulse to say we all told you so because it is just so awful. I have made an appointment with a hand surgeon for two weeks from now. I honestly don't expect anything much.
Glory hallelujah! It rained tonight! DD1 posted the cutest FB picture of Quoye playing in a mud puddle, mud all over her. It rained there too!! Rain is an event here.
I've an appointment with the dentist tomorrow to have my new teeth guard checked for proper fit. Yes I'm a grinder...
Old man Toby dog has so much more energy now that those infected upper teeth are out and the antibiotics are almost done. It's just amazing how much better he feels.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Yes, they do, but i forgot that when I was looking for the paint and just bought it off the shelfstill, it will be okay, and is guaranteed for 5 years which is handy as OH and I get older. (IYSWIM.)
(((HUGS))) Hester, I'm not surprised you're having panic attacks with everything happening so fast and all you've been doing lately looking after people's pets/houses/gardens! i'm sure they will settle once you've moved and begun settling in.
mila So very sorry to hear about your husband's hand. They just don't like taking good advice sometimes, do they?
My brother in Germany with leukaemia now has DVTHe is supposed to be making a couple of brief trips to visit family over her in the next couple of months, so I hope he'll still be able to. the NHS Choices website says it's fine to fly if you're on warfarin as if actually means you're at lower risk than most people!

Sympathies on that one.
I was astonished to find, after recent move, that there seems to be a fairly common expectation of being told "Havent you done well:T" after doing a job. I'd never encountered this before. I'm used to = they do the job/you pay them/end of.
Now I wouldnt mind saying "Oh yes - you HAVE done well" if they actually had. But, more often than not, I'm having to grit my teeth and zip my mouth shut not to yell at them for low standard of workmanship. There is NO way I'm going to compliment a workman on a "job well done" unless it actually HAS been done well - why would anyone??? Maybe they are used to getting unmerited compliments and that is why some of them are prone to telling you how good they are (even though they arent)??
The ultimate expression of that was one saying "You're pleased with it then:)" just because I'd paid him for the job when he finished it:question:0 -
I wouldn't mind at the end of a job MTSTM, but he seems to want a standing ovation 4 or 5 times a day. And spends endless time swearing, grumbling and sighing. I'm not one to believe in "bad vibes" but he's filled the house with so much negativity I feel like wafting a sage stick around after he leaves :rotfl:Softstuff- Officially better than 0070
