    Evening all,

Thanks for the walk rec Thirzah.

Tips you might try the Health and Beauty board for toiletries and Food Shopping and Groceries board.

I've had a long day with lots of work stress--nothing particularly wrong, but just exhausting. I'm off to curl up with a book for a bit before it is time to make tea. I hope the rest of you didn't have such a bad case of the Mondays today.

The hall, stairs and landing have had the first coat of paint, 2nd coat on tomorrow. Another bin bag filled with rubbish and more stuff in the box to go to the CS. No painting on Wednesday as we are looking after 3 two year olds!
More stuff has been taken from the front garden, I've fed the cats, pulled the cat owners bin up her very steep drive and put my own bin out ready for the morning.
    Chin up, Titus out.

Hester, if I could afford it I think I'd like to buy your house. I have never moved into a house where everything was newly decorated except the last manse we moved into which was absolutely lovely.

I've had a lovely day. Lots of washing which almost dried as you watched it. Lots of hurling toys into boxes and cupboards, I've given up sorting them out tidily, no one else bothers. I even scrubbed out the recycling wheelie bin and the food bin. I think it is possibly the first time the recycling bin has been cleaned, I nearly had to stand on my head to get to the bottom of it.

Tomorrow I am going out to lunch with a friend so I can now go with a clear conscience knowing that I have been so housewifely today.

Do you know monna, I was thinking exactly the same thing. HH, your house will be stunning and whoever buys it will be a very lucky purchaser.

Had a funny kind of day, drove back from Yorkshire (near Halifax) this morning, unpacked my bag, put the washing out and then came to a standstill! Anyway, it would be rude not to watch the olympics, watched the men's trap shooting (never seen it before) and now on the diving.

We are only decorating the hall stairs and landing because the walls were very badly marked by the lodgers and grandchildren.
The study is being painted because the walls are water marked where one of the lodgers let the bath overflow and caused a flood.

camelot We enjoyed watching the diving and the gymnastics last night but got very irritated having to keep flipping between BBC1 an BBC2! Especially because one reason was because of Eastenders. Hello, BBC - the world does not revolve around Eastenders

I reckon they'll get quite a lot of complaints about it.

Hester Well done on so much painting! Several years ago when he was a bit more mobile it still took OH several days to do the hall, stairs and landing.

monnagran Enjoy your lunch! You really deserve it after yesterday,

The new gate and fence panel will need painting, and OH will want it to be the same dark brownish-red as the fence and gate at the end of the garden. But I think it would look better in a bluey-grey, as it's against a white wall, so will try to put my foot down with a firm hand.

    Morning all,

I'm exhausted just reading all of the things you're up to! I've moved into some properly disgusting places before but our current house was immaculate. The sister of half the couple who own it is a professional cleaner and they came in and cleaned before handing us the keys and left flowers for us. It was really the most luxurious house move I've ever had.

Today is standard fare of work and the gym for me. OH is cooking so I may get some time to sew when I finish at the gym or I may just curl up with a book again!

Managed to get some fence paint in "Silver Copse", the nearest b & q had to a bluey-grey. Where do the people on all the property renovation programmes find all these different coloured paints???

I wanted some finials for the gateposts too, but they were awful :(
