It's obvious I've been MIA for a few days. DH takes part in a big charity motorbike run every year & I help with the on the day registration. We had over 250 bikes ( breathe Hester) DH had a slight mishap and is now languishing at home with an inflatable boot (Hester!!!!) As he's cracked a bone in his ankle. Still we made loads of Dosh for the charities.
Taking a friend shopping today. I'm not I tending to buy anything - it's going to be her day, just hope its not too hot!
TT - don't worry about getting mixed up - well do it and we're very forgivingSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
silvasava Ouch, poor DH! Wishing him a speedy recovery
mardatha Don't be hard on your self! "Lazy wee mess" my foot! You've spent a lot of this year struggling with the M.E., so not surprising you've not done as much as usual!
Tipsntreats When I first started posting I used to take notes and make a list of who'd said what, so that I could answer everyone individually, but it becomes very tiring. Now I just answer all the people whose news I can remember at the time, and trust that anyone I don't mention will understand that it's not deliberate and that I'm not ignoring them
mrssnowy Sorry you've been having such a very rough time. Sending you ((HUGS)). Please be kind to yourself x
pineapple Oh dear, that's awkward re the coleslaw! I think I would just tell your neighbour that you've appreciated her kindness but you don't want any more.
I had a bit of a panic this morning, I switched the laptop on and the cursor wouldn't move, I thought it was frozen, so turned it off and back on again, still no luck....it turned out that the mouse needed new batteries! And I even knew where they were, too, which made a change0 -
hester ,please take 5 and sit still ....All that running around ,loose to much weight and the pvc will not fit  then what will you do ..?..Please don't answer that :rotfl:
Is the PVC a bit like that self adhesive secondary double glazing you can get? Blow all over it with a hairdryer and it shrinks smooth?
Silvasaver, glad your DHs ankle was damaged in a good cause, just hope he mends quick.
I am pished on G and T, it's to numb the pain of the house reno. Tomorrow there's a jackhammer and the day after a concrete saw. And dust. So much bleeding dust. *slurp*Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Mardatha, I would advise trying to get some air everyday. I know it's not easy with the rotten Summer we are having. Did you not research vitamin D?0
-
Softstuff - I feel your pain on the dust. I have got rid of most of the dust from upstairs (still settling) and I now have an idea of what the whole house could be like in the future.
However... I'm currently planning the next phase that involves digging holes in the kitchen floor to get the gas in for the hob, taking the kitchen ceiling down to drop all the electrics down for the kitchen, opening up the utility chimney to put the cooker flue in and then screeding the floors to make them level. The thought of all that dust is making me feel the need for a G&T and the mess won't start till September!0 -
Juliettet, I take high dose vitD3 capsules pet. And I did poke my nose out the back to hang up some washing , but it's very dull and overcast otherwise I'd take the knitting ootside0

Hi all,
I have a big hug for mrssnowy, just been through all that. You should read my thread Are our possessions worth nothing, it was written out of despair. Just as one tragedy happens, another what I term as NEXT comes along!
Now something to make you all laugh (you all need it).
I was in Amsterdam in June for a few days (Hubby was 60).My family of 4 all adults, and hubbys friend from his naval days. We all went to the sex museum. Now, at the start of the tour was a Flasher! I had forgotten that when I was a teenager, a large college group of us went to London (up the smoke, we called it then). We all went out to the Disco, returning to our hotel in the early hours. In those days (the 70s), we walked back. I was slightly lagging behind my friends, trying to light a cigarette, when a man in a mack jumped out in front of me and flashed his .....! Well I suppose he didn't get the reaction he wanted from me. I said "Very nice, what else did you get for Christmas". With that he lifted his ....up and said "these", then ran of down an alley.

I forgot to say. I have a song for mrssnowy. It is from Carousel 'When I marry Mr Snow'. It is a favourite of mine. It is not meant to be offensive, as I know you are widowed (yes I read all this time), but just a little song I am playing for you.

Just now I have a coleslaw dilemma in that my neighbour has been getting two for one deals and bringing me the spare. I accepted the first one so as not to be rude but now it has become a regular thing and I don't know how to stop it!
Tell her that the meals that you have planned this week are not the kind that coleslaw goes with and you'd hate to waste it so could she think of anyone who may appreciate it more....0 -
Never mind PVC shrinking when blown with a hairdryer, I'd like that to work on my skin as a way to get rid of the wrinkles.
I know you all think I'm obsessed with sex, well it seem my beloved thinks so too. He has been depressed for a while and this affects his libido, he has been worrying that this would affect how I feel about him. Turns out he thought I married him because he's good in bed. He was devastated when I told him I married him because he's so kind!Chin up, Titus out.0
