This is a Dell Latitude E6400 so up to 8 years old. I actually ordered a cheaper one but they had none left so sent me this slightly higher spec. I just need it for googling and emails and online buys and it does the job fine.;)
Windows 7?
I'm still on XP!0 -
I'm interested in your experiences with refurbished laptops because that's what I am looking for. I also want Windows 7.
I greatly regret leaving my faithful PC behind when I moved hastily but a laptop would be more practical.
If anyone has any advice I would be glad to hear it.
I'm one of those irritating people who finds technology baffling. I learn to do what I need to, but the whys and the wherefores don't interest me at all.
Had fun with Pickle today. We made banana and choc chip muffins with some manky bananas. Then we washed up and mopped the floor. Then we mopped up Pickle. Then she painted some pictures, and we mopped up again. Finally we played hide and seek, ostrich style, you know, if I can't see you, you can't see me.
I need to lie down in a darkened room.

Those nose washes are hideous - I feel for you. My youngest (18 now) has had a deep rooted sinus infection for months, she's now having 8 steroids a day along with antibiotics and has to do the wash with 2 different sorts of drops in twice a day until they can operate (probably around 3 months wait). It's not made her a happy bunny.
How very awful for her! (And you) Are they going to widen her sinus passages? That's what I had done years ago and it has made a tremendous difference.
Ivy my infrequent infections are allergy related and so bacterial. The wash he gave me has an antibiotic added so it just acts on the sinuses and doesn't wipe out all my body flora like pills would. It's new to me and I have a fear of water up my nose but I am surviving. Like Poopky said it's hideous!
Feeling some better today. Thank you everyone for the better health wishes.
Boult HaPpY BIrThDaY to you !!!!! :T:T:T:T:T:T
May you a wonderful year to come! :beer:Overprepare, then go with the flow.

Hi all,
I am still feeling the outsider, I read and it feels like eaves dropping, as I get the info wrong!
So, family historians: When I couldn't find my Maternal Grandfathers birth certificate, after buying 5, that were all wrong. It was my friend, that helped solve the mystery. I had his death certificate, I had his marriage certificate. I knew where he was born, and the exact birth date. I found his sisters baptism online. But no baptism for him? So armed with these facts, my friend found him??????
What a surprise for me! Now I know his Mother was NEVER married. She even died using a name that was NOT really hers. Generations have now gone on with this name! We find his Mother as a child living in Windsor, my birth place. Her Father died , and she was pushed from place to place (never in the workhouse). She had a child, a girl, that took her maiden name of Clark. We then find her in Southall on the 1901 census, she states she is a visitor, but it was obvious she was living with a man, as she had another child in his name. He states he is a widower. That child died. Then along came my Grandfathers sister, again in this mans name. However, in the 1911 census, she is back in Berkshire, with 4 children. One is Clark, then Two (Grandad and his sis) are Pullen, and the last in the same name of what, the so called lodger is called. Now all my family knew, this last child also died. So, I ordered, the birth certificate in Clark. The right place, the right date, just not the same name as his death and marriage certificates. It was indeed his. So I looked for a death, on his Father. Yes, I found it, he died before my Grandfather was born, just 3 months before. My Grandad, along with my Grandma, and the three children they had, never knew. I did tell my Mum before she died. You should all be Clarks I said, but who cares now.
What we do know is that the Father must be present when registering a birth in their name. So if any of you have got lost tracing BMDs, remember my little story.
