Sounds more like Flanders & Swan "T'was on a Monday Morning the Gas Man Came to Call". You're a bit too young to remember that Softstuff. Needless to say the last line is the same as the first. They had all the other tradesmen out in between and each one made a job for the next one. You may find it online. You can put up your Christmas decorations when they finish. It can't be long saw my first banner on a Hotel in Manchester today "Now Booking for Christmas." Must be time to book the office party.

Glad your paperwork has turned up after spending so much money on it. I told you, you were getting there, soon be putting your feet up.

I found it on youtube, and it is surprisingly accurate!

The funny one from the other day, I was in the laundry taking the washing out of the machine and noticed a funny line cut in the wall, a hole and a dent. Odd, I thought, since we're not doing anything in there right now. So I queried what had happened. Turned out that the line was where he'd accidentally cut the plaster board with a reciprocating saw... the hole was where a nail from a nailgun had hit a hidden screw and ricocheted... and the dent.... the dent was where he'd whacked the offending nail back out. :rotfl:

So far it's 10am, we've had an air con technician, a plumber and a tradie. Maybe by the time we get to Christmas we'll have the partridge in the pear tree.

Softstuff, we want photos of the swans, maids and drummers please!

Been out for tea with a friend tonight - turned out to be a very mediocre meal that was free, with added rudeness from a waitress who sulked because we pointed out that she had written our order wrong. Her manager was so mortified that she gave us our meal and drinks with no charge.

Softstuff I'm so pleased for you that your documents finally got there :j Your house sounds a bit like ours - whatever needs doing, it can't be done unless something else is done first....but then that can't be done unless something else is done first, ad infinitum!

DD1 is finally going to hosp to have her appendix out tomorrow :j She'll be so relieved not to have to worry that it's flaring up again every time she gets a twinge!

nursemaggie Glad your own hospital trip went ok and that you found such a pretty top (and didn't get caught in the rain for a change!) :)

There's an old Turkish expression that free vinegar is better than cheap wine... but sometimes meals like that feel like a waste of calories. Where was it Floss? Pm me if you dont want to say openly, but my curiosity is in overdrive!

Once all of this is done I'll host some piccies somewhere to [STRIKE]show off[/STRIKE] share :D

Hello everyone. Apologies for the quick dip in and out again. l feel quite rude not catching up over the 3 weeks or so. I'm just popping in to keep you all in the loop with what is going on.

Firstly, DD's dyslexia. Appauling treatment from ignorant staff is all I have the gumption to type. It hs been an awfully frustrating time trying to get an assessment for 'a girl who is too bright to be dyslexic'. Give me strength! DH and I met with the head after I contacted LA SEND inclusion team. Things are in motion now for a referral next term the only problem is the referral has been completed by me, in depth and knowledgable about DD's specific learning difficulties, and not supportd by the teaching staff because they don't identify any issues. They haven't even spoken to DD or assessed her. They 'just know' I have already met with her new teacher for September and a meeting is arranged between myself, the head and the new teacher 2 weeks into the new term so I am hopeful that I can at least get an understanding from staff as to what is difficult for DD. I pity parents wo have no SEND knowledge or experience.

Very quickly Mam has gone back to the levels of before I left to live in Dorset. It is very, very difficult being round the lies and the manipulation again but my sister and I are becoming closer. It's nice. She's consuming a bottle of vodka daily and no longer taking meds for cirrhosis as she hasn't been for her medication review. There's so much more I could say but t's futile. Happier things!

Speaking of which. We have been very reckless with our savings that were welll on the way to beig replenished after our move back. Ouch! We bought a little touring caravan. We've been away the past two weekends. Given the above having that enables me to feel free and able to escape.

Asthma doing well and still on the anxiety meds.

One of the main reasons that I have not been online is because I have taken up writing. It's also an escape. I don't know if I am talented enough to make a part time living out of it but for now I just love having a purpose and a focus, especially as the girls are now home and I can't volunteer in the shop.

That leaves me with a little bit of feedback for MONNA. I type on my tablet using a stand and external keyboard. I got it from ebay for 4.75 (and just realised it doesn't have a pound sign!) but although still a little tricky it's such a relief to type and use a cursor key :D:D:D so easy monna, just plug the wire in the charging port and you're away!

Dear Lyn, hello to you too and everyone else on here with an OS heart. I shall try to keep in touch with you more.

Hello fuddle, another Dorset girl like me. Happy Birthday to anyone that has one, and Happy Birthday to anyone that wants one. Soothing your brow, to all those who are poorly.

This morning Environmental Health came back for an inspection. The head of the department, his stupid officer, and our agent. AT LAST! Someone listened, instead of blaming the mould and damp on condensation and our lifestyle. He confirmed that it was indeed penetrating damp. So a different order has now been issued on our flat. It is going to cost, our stingy landlady a fortune. Serves her right for not listening.
    Tips x

How lovely to hear from you fuddle! I was thinking of you just this morning, as our DGD has recently had some sort of screening at school for dyslexia and it said she has "some signs of dyslexia" but nothing is happening yet, they say they are going to monitor her next term. So sorry it's so frustrating trying to get the help your DD needs  and sorry about your mum too xx

Tips Just seen your post. That's great news! I hope they can get landlady to sort it out asap.

Softstuff no problem naming & shaming - it was Prezzo in St Anne's. We've been to the Blackpool one a few times and enjoyed it, but this one is dire!
