My ex is still being petty and spiteful when he can and it's 16 years ago now.
One of the best ones was during the divorce hearing in front of the judge, she refused to grant the divorce until the finances were settled. She wanted to know why he didn't feel I was entitled to my half of the assets. He replied 'Women are always sitting on a hot meal, why should I give her anything' The judge then asked him why he hadn't paid me a salary all the years I'd worked in the family business. He told her that I'd worked as a hooker throughout our marriage so I hadn't needed a salary!
The judge told him if he persisted in following that argument she's report him for living off immoral earnings. That's when he threw his briefcase at his barrister and stormed out. My barrister escorted me to my car as she was afraid he'd attack me, and sure enough he was lying in wait!Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Hester you need to be the other end of the country like me. He lives in Gloucester and I live in Greater Manchester.0

Oh my goodness. I've not knitted any for some years. I don't remember having a pattern and am not sure if I can recall what I did. I have another box of knitting things to track down and will look to see if I have anything in there. If I do I will gladly knit one for you. I have a nasty feeling that I may have decluttered that bag thinking that I would never need it again. Watch this space.
Hester: I am with you. My ex went through 3 solicitors during the divorce and finally threw a hissy fit because none of them would do what he wanted and decided to represent himself. My solicitor nearly went mad, he said that most of his time was spent trying to explain to ex why he couldn't do what he was doing In the end my barrister said to let him just go ahead whichever way he wanted to as it would give her a great deal of pleasure to take it to court and watch him lose everything. I think that this was conveyed to him and he caved in. I don't think he actually threw anything - he would have missed anyway. He just spent the next 31 years trying to get revenge. His idea of fairness was for him to get everything and me to have nothing. He never, never gave up. It sounds as if your case was even worse. Mine never thought of accusing me of being a hooker! I feel quite insulted.
I don't know where all that came from. Sorry, I guess a lot of us could tell similar stories.
It's a beautiful day here today. The sky is blue and the sea is sparkling. Much too good to do any work. DS has mown lawns like one possessed. One of his new customers questioned him about what he was charging. He was just about to get defensive when she explained that she had been quoted 4 times as much by someone else. DS said that it would take him so many hours and at his hourly rate this was what he would charge. When he had finished she was very impressed, not only by the straightness of his stripes (he is a bit OCD) but by the fact that when she took him out a drink he knocked it back and got straight back to work. He is far from being perfect but even his mother can't fault his honesty and work ethic.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Monna I guess it was because what is really upsetting you is too raw. I only put mine in because I thought it would make you laugh when I said he would have to look for me first if he wants a divorce. Unfortunately he has not got two ha'pennies to rub together so no point in chasing him for money.
I have two ha'pennies, a farthing and a silver threepenny bit, trouble is I lost the key to the box they are in.0 -
Nursemaggie, I will bring you a hairpin!

Same here, I've been to Blackpool once in the middle of summer, and we couldn't breathe. We thought we were coming down with flu or something and came right home - to see on the weather forecast "poor air quality" on the map around Blackpool lol. Never went back.0

Wish I could Floss, but like others I'm too far away as well as reliant on public transport. Hope you all have a brilliant time.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0

Would love to come, too, Floss, but too far away from you for a day trip. Thanks for asking though.
Reading all of the things some of you have been through is making me count my blessings. I am so thankful for a DH who has never given me any cause for concern, and two lovely daughters who have been a delight to raise, apart from the odd slight wobble.;)
Take care, everyone. xx2025 Fashion on the ration
