Starting to feel somewhat like sisyphus in the garden again. Gawd knows what possessed the previous owners to put so many large rocks out there. Must have gotten them free. Anyway, another pile moved on yesterday. And a couple of hours weeding. Much more to do. Onwards and ... er... onwards.

You clearly need to find a market for the rocks Softstuff. Or maybe set up as a personal trainer with an 'outdoor gym' :)

I believe that the Hanging Gardens of Babylon had quite a lot to do with rocks. If you were looking for ideas, Softstuff.

Well, hubby who does gym ball exercises and cycles gawd knows how far was complaining about his sore thighs after a few hours of it, meanwhile mine are fine since I've gotten used to that particular exercise. So there's clearly some health benefits to rock moving! We will be moving them again eventually and I have been using some as garden edging. MIL is on acreage and has taken about 7 car loads so far for doing her garden borders. Rocks are surprisingly expensive if you actually want them.

Although it *feels* like I've moved that many rocks, we're not exactly on the same scale as them Monnagran! Though we do intend to get some really big boulders as retaining wall to tier the back garden, I'm sure as hell not moving them!

I really do think you should come over to the UK for a couple of months and sort out my house and garden for me Softstuff. You're obviously very good at it!

I am coming to England this year, but will be sorting out my mothers house for a couple of weeks and fixing whatever needs fixing there. The reason I do ok with the house and garden stuff is that I'm a bit of an anal neat freak who gets anxious when things aren't clean and tidy. This even applies to weeds and rocks. Plus I'm too tight to pay anyone to do what I can figure out myself (especially when I'm not working) so I end up having to learn, try and try again.

Just seen an article in the daily mail online about a frugal pensioner with a funky shed, named Ilona. Apparently one of the forumers, raise a hand if it's you, I love the shed (but have no idea what to do with reduced pease pudding).

Greenbee: so should you have been.

Only you, Softstuff, could fuss over having tidy weeds.

I'm very tidy too - its hell if you've got ME and the energy runs out fast, get very frustrated. The one thing that escapes my tidyness seem to be the kitchen drawers.
Horrible day again here, nasty gusty wind and rain, very dark.

So many helpful ideas for me. Thanks so much! I forgot how knowledgeable people were on this thread. Very much appreciated. I'll be back later with my note pad to write the ideas down to research. Ta muchly :)
