Then back to taxi eldest ds to his night out ..
So nothing very productive done today , will have to sort tomorrow ..But at least dh can take youngest ds to football

  • Hi Fuddle, I'm also looking into ways to control anxiety. To reduce caffeine I have swapped to Twinings camomile from late afternoon onwards. I've tried cheaper brands but they don't compare.

I like nettle, fennel, liquorice and cinnamon as teas. Have a look at some of the 'yogi' or ayuvedic teas fuddle. Lots of things to try. And the 'spicy' teas you may be able to make at home from ingredients you already have.

Morning fencers. Sorry I've not posted for a long time. RL getting in the way so I've only focussed mainly on the flylady thread to try to keep up with the housework.

A relative took their own life, OldDog fractured her paw and......you get the picture.

I actually now have two pieces of good news for a change which I can't share at the moment but are at least making me feel more joyous at the moment. And I've had a lie in this morning, only been up an hour.

Another one here who has cut down on caffeine. Not for any particular health reason, although I came to the conclusion my body probably only wants water really. I now only have two cups of tea a day (as opposed to at least 8 in the past) and the number of headaches/migraines I suffer has really reduced. The chemist must have noticed a reduction in sales.

So during the winter I've been drinking hot water, in the summer I'll go back to iced water. Also have one glass of pure juice, and one of skimmed milk a day.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.

Glad you feel good this morning monna!

Yes, it's lovely to see sunshine.

Bit distracted atm as my brother is very ill in hospital in Germany. I'd like to go and see him, but I know quite well that if I arrive at the bedside he will think it's curtains, so to speak.

    Could you Skype?

Ivyleaf: difficult situation for you regarding your brother. All I can suggest is lots of other communications. Cards, letters, phone calls Tec. ........those gremlins again who dont like a abbreviation of etcera, sorry. Whatever you can do without alarming him by visiting.

Candygirl and zippy: you both made me laugh with your tales of teenage body adornment. My sons had pretty outrageous hair dos at which I threw a tantrum that would have impressed a two year-old. It did seem to satisfy their need for rebellious self-expression as they never felt the need to go further -- I was quite a sneaky mother!
However, my DS1, who always liked to test the boundaries, did once come home with a dinky little hoop pierced through his eyebrow. He paraded around waiting for the axe to fall. I merely picked up the dog lead, handed it to his girlfriend saying, "if you clip this on to that handy ring, you should have no more trouble." I never saw it again that was the end of piercings.

I hope you are all having a relaxing Sunday. I was offered the opportunity to go to a birthday party with Grand-daughter. GD in question said kindly that if I didn't want to go to the party I could stay at home and tidy up. Thank you! Actually, if it comes to the choice between a hall full of 3 yearold over-excited prima donnas all doing their shouty, yelling rushing about thing and doing a bit of quiet tidying up at home, there is no contest. So Mum and Dad did the honours and all three of them are now back, (It was a lunchtime do) and GD is all revved up and ready for the next entertainment. Mum and Dad? Oh, they are collapsed in armchairs, eyes closed and looking pale.

Of such is my exciting life.

    Could you Skype?

No, he hasn't got Wi-Fi or he would have emailed me from his phone - we are exchanging texts tho.

Actually I've never Skyped and wouldn't know where to start anyway - technophobe :o I find talking on the phone quite difficult enough without seeing him on screen as well, especially if he was to be upset IYSWIM.

    Thanks though.

burtha If you did find any homework, I hope it was something easy x
