The Sun is out, the sky is blue. Btw, the Sun I am effing to is the bright light in the sky not the celebrated fish and chip wrapping. I don't know who the tablet thinks is writing this but I am not in the habit of effing. Shall we try 'referring'? That's better.

    HELLOOOOOO?

    Anyone out there?

Having spent most of the night working on a job that just wouldn't go well, I spent the day out in the sun trying to get photos of a short eared owl and a few other critters. Tonight I managed to get last night's problems sorted, so I'm calling it quits for the day/night and going to bed.

I did here something on the radio that particularly brought you to mind. The world's oldest man died, but when asked the secret of his longevity a while back, he'd said not overworking and living with Joy (a poor translation of joyfully) but it made me smile.

You asked for someone to stop you rambling, I'll do you a deal, I'll stop you rambling when I'm sick of you rambling - remind me in a century or three :)

I hope the tablet manages to behave itself for you tomorrow.

    It's happened again!!
I'd written quite a bit of a post when my tablet got bored with playing that game andswitched me over to another site. Of course when I switched back the post had disappeared.
It's too late to start again so I'll see you all in the morning.

Maybe you're accidentally doing what I do on the tablet, resting your wrist (or in my case belly :o ) on the touch buttons on the bottom bezel. Drives me batty.

Shame there's no hot air balloon Elona...not even a hovercraft. Would have been an adventure. Not for me, hot air balloons combine 2 of my fears, fire and heights!

Another day of thick white freezing mist up here, snow still lying, and when that happens all the oldies shake their heads and say "Ahhh it's waiting for more" - which in mid Jan up here is hardly ancient wisdom :)
We were supposed to go up to Edinburgh for some new clothes but it's much cosier in here and we canny be assed. Plus the RV has discovered the world of the iphone and is sat happily watching eastenders (YEUGH!) on his phone. I'm trying not to hear it.
A Navajo pal of mine in North Dakota sent me a surprise box for my birthday & xmas - a "real" Dreamcatcher and some solar garden lights in the shape of hummingbirds and dragonflies... so beautiful.
We are trying healthy eating this week, HM soup and salads, it seems to have settled my heartburn.
This is the longest post I have ever made I think :)

Wow, mardatha! Home made soups! We'll make a proper cook of you yet!

monnagran - I type my posts on an IPad (Christmas present) or my old faithful kindle, and I swear there is a malevolent little pixie living inside my kindle changing the words as I type them. He also has a cousin living in the IPad, but that one isn't quite as naughty.

Hello all, do you mind if I join you? :)

I went from working long hours to twelve where I work alone and I'm feeling very isolated some days and would love to have some people to chat with. I've joined some classes, which are great, but my Dad is off to the hospital this morning and I'm feeling worried about it and realised yesterday I miss having someone to just being able to chat with.

I don't think the weather is helping, but it does look lovely out there today and I'm off to a sewing class this morning. :)

Zippy: Oh my dear, come on here, we do the best line in mindless chat that you'll find anywhere.

Poor you worrying about your Dad. It's quite possible that you are more worried than he is. It's often easier to experience something than to be the one waiting for news. I bet you can't concentrate on anything while you are waiting. Will he phone you when he is finished at the hospital?
Lots of virtual hugs from me and there is usually someone around here to have a chat to, although there have been times when everyone leaves home and I am a voice crying in the wilderness.
Time will hang heavy until you get some news but we will, stay with you.

    Chin up.

  • Zippy, WELCOME. This is one of the friendliest threads together with the daily thread,

Many of us have had, or are having difficult times, and when we mention it on here we have the most wonderful support,

I can understand how worried you must be about your Dad, but as Monna says, you may be more worried than he is,

I don't think I would have liked working alone, I like someone to gossip with, so this is a very good place. I have been retired 10 years now, and yes I do miss the "girls" i worked with, but I don't miss the stress involved with the job. We try to meet up about every 6 weeks at W*therspoons to catch up with everyone's news and to have a great steak.

When you are feeling at a loose end, or you just feel like having a chat, just pop on here, as Monna says there is usually one of us floating around looking for someone to talk to.

I hope all goes well with your Dad

    Hugs

It's not something I can forget Elona, worries me more than the heights frankly. That's not to say I'll be doing a high dive any time soon.

Hi Zippy and welcome, pull up a chair, help yourself to the wine.

I've gotten myself a bit squiffy this evening. Recently my grandmother died in my biological fathers side. An odd event considering she had disowned me and disinherited me years ago. But I'm bothered on my half sisters behalf and because I still can't fathom what brought about that event either. A grand old cluster whatnot out of all proportion and not my doing. I realise this is an incoherent ramble, but it's a long story that makes no sense even when told fully. I think though I'm a hairs breadth away from bringing all of this out in the open with that side of the family, an airing of grievances if you will. Frankly it's that or therapy for me.
