Have just had a long post wiped. Took me ages to write so all I am going to say is, "*******************".

Am now off to shed bitter tears of frustration.

Have trouble remembering how to fly.
  • Oh Monna that's so frustrating for you! Hope you're doing ok hun, maybe you can update us all later if you have time xxx

  • Good morning Fencers . First day since Wednesday I feel as if the flu may be over the worst . I had my first cup of tea for four days - just couldn't face it until now . Luckily I had a stock of proper ginger beer which I have been sipping . Just wondering if I can manage some porridge . I realised earlier I haven't actually eaten since last monday and I can't afford to lose anymore weight .
Sending hugs to any who need some . Floss , Jazee , Mummyjane and Camelot so sorry for your difficulties .
Monna - Hope your well , Mardatha stay tucked up by the fire .
    Back later

Good morning :) OH has a test drive of a smaller car this morning as I'm starting to find it a bit difficult to get into our current one. My hips have started complaining :( I feel bad, as he loves the one we've got, and I love it too once I'm in. It's a Motability car and he could extend the lease for another 2 years, but no point if I'm going to end up unable to climb in!

I might go along in the back of the car this morning too, to see if it's roomy enough in the back for any adult passengers, as OH will need the driving seat as far back as possible.

Have you had a look at a citroen berlingo multispace Ivyleaf? Really easy to get in and out of because of seat height and position, easy to get in and out of the back and also a doddle for fitting a wheelchair in if needed.

Pollyanna, have a few kilos from me and I hope uoj feel better soon.

Monnagran, looking forward to seeing what you had to say!

I would second that one :) We have a dispatch because I needed more seats but would happily have bought the berlingo or the peugeot version if I didnt need more seat :)

Thanks kidcat and softstuff :) I don't think OH's too keen, but I'll see if we can go and have a look at one. he might change his mind if he has a drive in one.

The problem I'm having with our current car (Vauxhall Antara) is that as well as the seats being high (that in itself is fine, especially as OH is very tall), the door sill is very wide.

He enjoyed driving the Mokka, but it's a bit tight for space in the back (I went along to see what it was like to be a rear-seat passenger!). I tried to move my feet outwards a bit and found there was nowhere to put them.

ETA Pollyanna Get well soon x

Thank You for the kind get well wishes . This is the first time my brain seems to be functioning for nearly a week . I am always the last one standing so it has been quite a shock to be totally wiped out . As a carer I have pushed on regardless for decades and it is quite a shock to be brought to a standstill . I need to take notice in future of what my body is saying . Looking back now over the last few weeks I can see I was blaming the damp weather for increasingly painful joints - I do have psa and fibro . I now see I was ignoring a chesty cough and lack of energy and barely eating . I will need to get a grip now as I've been running on empty for quite a while .

Theres a poster doing the rounds at the moment about cars cant run on fumes forever and nor can carers, its true. I often ignore health issues until crisis point and then theres a massive panic and the fallout is usually huge. Its my goal for this year to look after my health as much as the others :)
