Monna, I hope you are ok.
We have snow here, only a smattering and I don't think it will pitch, if it does or if it get worse I won't go to work tomorrow.
We all keep eggs in our fridges too"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

My youngest DD bought me a dinky little egg house for Christmas and a cookery book stand to match so half a dozen live in there."This site is addictive!"

Morning fencers.
I've got a metal work hen to keep my eggs in, it holds about 20 but usually only has about six in it.
Just had a short walk with the dogs as it's so cold and probably not good for their paws. They did wear their coats though. We haven't got snow here, think its further up north, and much further down south, so far we seem to have escaped.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
We had just a dusting, which has melted now.
Sorry to hear about your friend's mum, camelot
Softstuff Cockroaches UGH! Small ones are bad enough, I wouldn't fancy Australian ones :eek:0 -
I used to hate the cockroaches in Singapore, huge they were
We had quite a bit of snow yesterday which settled. I thought I would see children playing in it today but was only the men from our building out last night playing snowballs.
The sky looks full of snow. It's been snowing on and off all afternoon so I expect it will start faster after dark like yesterday.0 -
So sorry to read of your friend's loss Camelot.
Lyn good winI haven't eaten at the restaurants but I have had fish bought from the ofiginal shop on Loch Fyne, Clachan - beautiful.
We've been busy using our national trust membership in our new locality. The houses aren't open but the walks were fab. Treat cup of tea at the end by a woodburner, sat in chairs draped with wool blankets. We all needed it.
Knitting is voinv great although 3rd square moss stitch has been a nightmare. Haven't given up but confused at how I can conquer rib stitch in the process. :rotfl:
DH paid. All bills from the south are paid and my cupboards are stocked a bit better. Here's to entering a period of calmness.0 -
Camelot - so sorry for your friend. It's good she has you.
Nosnow here but bitter cold wind. Glad things are coming together for you and your family Fuddle.
Softstuff - DS1 managed to bring home a cockroach when he came back from OZ - it had been in his hold luggage at about -20 and the burger was still alive!!!! First one I'd ever seen ( sheltered life y'know) didn't last long though when DS had finished with it! I can deal with spiders & snakes and lots of other creatures but cockroaches and rats are out!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
And dare I tell you all another joy of Australia. ... some of the big cockroaches fly
Finished the garden bed in front of the wall yesterday, just need to shift a few more rocks in to pretty it up. Then starting on the nexg garden bed near the garage. Certainly not short on garden here. Growing herbs and lettuce has proved easy, veg not so successful in the locationK had them and at that time of year. March is when we're able to plant more here, so hoping to be ready.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Australian bugs sounds fun, have a vision in my head of them all sitting around with silly hats with corks on ....
well weekend not quite what I had planed , thankfully got myself sorted mid afternoon Saturday , moved a Hugh amount of wood and stacked nicely, cleaned and sorted dogs/chickens ( collected another 10 eggs) ,did a quick roast chicken dinner .....then ended up working from 7pm in the club ,back this morning at 11 for a few hours , then tonight from 9 .... The lady who should have been in has custody of her grandchild , ...grandchild had been sledging and has broken her leg poor kid , so lots of trips to hospital , a leg cast from the hip down ,3/4 month to heal ...lots needed doing at the club because of end of year so busy time.....
so in between shifts have managed to , sort the normal stuff and do homework with a child who would test the patients of a saint !, to use up some eggsmade pavlova,8 whites , very large cake ,8 yolks, eggie bread 3 eggs, dippy eggs 2 eggs , also made wonderfull apple and cheese soda bread cause dd wanted it with her tomato soup ...everyone else had chicken curry from yesterday's leftovers but she hates curry ....and I must be a pushover so made her soup !lol ...
so now chilling a bit before I sort uniforms for the morning ...think I need a few more hours in the day ,...so plans for painting on hold for the moment but other things more important ....
Although I have been known to paint in the middle of the night before going to work ...hey ho
haven't heard the weather report so fingers crossed it not more snow and may warm up a bit ...

Good morning
OH has a test drive of a smaller car this morning as I'm starting to find it a bit difficult to get into our current one. My hips have started complaining
I feel bad, as he loves the one we've got, and I love it too once I'm in. It's a Motability car and he could extend the lease for another 2 years, but no point if I'm going to end up unable to climb in!
I might go along in the back of the car this morning too, to see if it's roomy enough in the back for any adult passengers, as OH will need the driving seat as far back as possible.0
