Sorry Monna, been caught up in catching up at work following FiL's funeral on Monday.

Am feeling particularly weary, the last few months supporting DH through what ended as a double bereavement are catching up with me.

  • I'm here Monna, we have DGD4 staying over tonight, we will make cakes in the morning so no doubt the kitchen will be awash with sprinkles.
I have one DD who's tearing her hair out as she is trying to buy a house & the mortgage company have lost her paperwork for the 3rd time. My other DD has 4 kids, 3 jobs & a dog, her car has just committed hari kiri, and her buggy has lost a wheel.
    Chin up, Titus out.

Oh,now I feel dreadful. Floss, nobody expects you to pick up normal life after what you have had to deal with recently. You are a dear to be here at all.

Hester: all power to your elbow - and any other joint you care to exercise. Um........I forgot for a moment who I was speaking to. Scrub that last suggestion, we don't want to give anyone a fit of the vapours. Your DDs are having one of those stressful times and m advice to you is to keep your head down and concentrate on DGD and cake making and sprinkles. Marginally safer.

Nursemaggie: your message is floating around in the ether, joining all the other long and perfectly crafted posts that disappear without trace. We've all done our fair share of tooth gnashing. Hope you are feeling a bit more at home.

It's quite big has original wood panels (painted a kind of sage green ) ... ..or will it look like someone has died in there or just look to dark ...does have a very large window ????....dh will not be worried whatever I do ...lol
Ds has just finished putting the skerting board on in the kitchen ...that's what we were doing 2 years ago when I had the crash ,has taken this long and it now almost finished .... few hold ups along the way , but paid for as we have done it so has taken a bit longer with health issues ....
Need a new back door ,so will have to see what's around , unfortunately nothing in this house is normal size , and cost ^^^^^*

So, has everyone gone on holiday to somewhere warmer?
Perhaps you have all been struck down by the horrid cough/cold virus thingy and are lurking under the duvet only emerging to rub on another layer of Vick and sip a soothing lemon and honey drink.
Or maybe an enormous UFO has arrived and sucked you all up and removed you to a place above the bright blue sky.

    COME BACK. PLEASE.

Sorry Monnagran, have been keeping busy here. Capped off, filled and painted the garden wall, then cleared the garden bed in front. Am halfway through doing the metal edging, but it was too hot yesterday. Conversely, went to the market this morning for some star jasmine to put in front (much cheaper there) and got soaked and chilled. Sods law. Still, nothing a hit shower and full cooked breakfast when I home couldn't fix.

Burtha, I've seen some nice red rooms, butit has to be the right red if you see what I mean. Worth getting a tester pot to try.

Hester, suggest to the DD with mortgage woes posting a complaint on their Facebook page. It worked for us and gave them a kick up the bum when nothing else would.

Floss, sending hugs, you're overdue a rest for sure.

Going to make sausage rolls and muffins today, just right for the weather.

Monna I think I would feel more at home if I could move. I have to keep standing on tiptoes to squeeze past the furniture with just my legs.

DS's legs being twice as long he gets round the room much better but then I don't know where he has put anything.

Must go to bed got to take DS for shoes in the morning. Never thought I would still be doing this at his age he will be 22 next month.

A big hug for you Floss you deserve a good rest.
  • Lol, Monna, all my joints are a bit creaky, hubby is on the mend, he felt better 3 times last week and twice on Saturday! His family shenanigans are still ongoing. Restraining order taken out by FIL against one BIL and various other madness.

I'm currently playing a very complicated card game with my 4yo DGD, the rules seem to change to ensure she wins every hand.

Burtha, I once lived in a house like that, not a straight edge anywhere.

Softstuff, good idea, I'll suggest that to her.

Cake making next, the kitchen will be awash with sprinkles by the time we have finished.

We're all here monna! Very cold and frosty here this morning, will need to go for a good walk to warm up.

Went and put the bottom strip on DDs shower last night, hopefully it will stop the water flooding the bathroom. Talking of DD, she was due to be made redundant at the end of the month as her shop is closing but she heard yesterday that she has the one and only vacancy at the remaining store. She still wants to do something else but at least she still has a job to pay the bills for now. Relief all round.

I'm here and okay :) Just didn't seem to have anything to say yesterday! (My family would probably say that's a very rare occurrence :o) We've been helping a lot with after-school care for DGS this week, and will be doing the same routine for the next 2 weeks as well (DSIL is on a placement doing 9-5ish Mon-Fri, rather than odd days) and I'm still getting used to fitting other things around that.

Mmm.....James Martin just said he's going to make coffee pannacotta with chocolate sauce and fresh doughnuts

Sending (((HUGS))) to everyone in need of some. In fact have some anyway even if you don't need some :)

ETA Just real your post Camelot. So pleased to hear the news re DD's job, not to mention your own news you mentioned on the Daily thread x
