I have an idea where Candygirl is, at the other end of the short motorway to me, so Pollynna must be either north or south? Either way, we're much closer by sea!

That's right hun, but i'm across the river n up the hill, IYSWIM;)

Kitty I too hope you get some news very soon. The pages Facebook set aside for such occasions are very good no one else can join in. We had one when DD was trapped in Libya when the war started. It seemed to work quicker than anything else and DD could list who was allowed in so no trolls.

Mental pic of Floss with a miners helmet and pick, digging away like a wee mole...
Woke up here to a gorgeous snowy morning, looks like a christmas card outside and the sky is that very interesting dark pewter grey colour that means MORE COMING.. do love snow days! I''m going to have a happy wee day at the fire here, at least I don't have the constant sound of battering rain on the window.

Mar it sometimes feels like that!

Wet here, bloomin' cold too. Lots of bitty things today - ironing DH's best white shirt for Monday, boot & handbag polishing, packing, making sure I've got what I want for my train journey home etc.

    Any news kittie?

No snow for us at the moment, everywhere around us seemed to have some, hope it stays that way.

Sending positive vibes and thoughts to kittie and softstuff.

Youngest dd is in Liverpool and when I saw the news about a bomb threat in the city centre yesterday it worried me as she works around there. I gave myself a mental talking to, reminded myself it was a big place and that if she was affected an e mail would not help and if she was not affected it would only worry her.

She phoned last night - the threat was in a building very near to her
office and they were cordoned off and not allowed to leave the building. Other people in other buildings were being evacuated around them and they could see armed police and the bomb squad!

I think I have had enough excitement for a while.

I joined fb to stay in contact with family. Such a supportive wide community out there. Racehorse owners using their huge lorries to transport horses out. I have no idea re their stock. As of an hour ago, it all flared up again and was very close to the farm. BIL is evacuating and making his way out. Once they leave then they cannot get back in so will have no idea about the farm. The fires are ferocious on the hills above and water bombers have been out in force but it hasn`t stopped it.

Looks like the family are ok, main thing. The stress and tiredness are unimaginable
