Sorry to join in with upset, but hubby and I have been in floods of tears. We had been having a tough time with dexter, he wasn't settling at all despite us trying everything the trainer suggested. In fact, he was getting worse. We couldn't even leave him 2 meters away in the same room without him howling and crying. Every night has been a nightmare, even if I sleep next to him. We brought our trainer here this morning, a trained vet nurse too, to see what we could do, but to no avail. She says his behavior is not normal and that we've been doing the right thing. While she was here he worked himself up to vomiting, despite everything she tried. She's taken him to stay with her for intensive training to see if he can be settled. He has been vet checked, so we know he is healthy, just behaviourally.... not normal.
We love the lil guy and want him home, we're so upset and tired.
Feeling lost. We so want this to work.
Thankfully we have money on the mortgage we can withdraw for all thus and hubby has an understanding boss.

nursemaggie, hope you make a complaint. Glad you are in now, unpacking and settling in will fall into place.
softstuff - What a rollercoaster ride you are having with that little guy. Hope the trainer can help.
monna - Put Loch Lomond on your trip list, cold but beautiful!0 -
I have an idea where Candygirl is, at the other end of the short motorway to me, so Pollynna must be either north or south? Either way, we're much closer by sea!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Life WILL gradually be less horrid for you, it takes time to actually get your head round what has happened, let alone the why of it all. I so wish I could magic you straight to a happy place and give you a new and happy life, it WILL come, it will honestly and each day will be a tiny bit lighter and less desolate, the spring when it comes will lift your spirits and you'll start to live again, and I'll put up the bunting and we'll all sail virtual balloons of celebration with you when it does, Lyn xxx.
Lyn, that's beautifully putSome years ago there was a cataclysmic event in our family, and once the first shock was over (which took a while in itself) I got through it a bit at a time by reminding myself every day that a time would come when I would feel better. And sure enough, it did.

You've all given me an idea. I could sail my little boat over to the IoW and Monna could stay on her! Not very big but has a bedroom, toilet, miniscule sink and a cooker and I can put the chiller box in. There's probably only about 2ft between each of these so no riotious party's on board (unless I'm invited!) She just needs to tell me which Marina she'd preferSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

Nursemaggie: you have received appalling treatment by thevremoval company. The man who assaulted your son should be charged, or have I been watching too much Judge Judy? At the very least the company should be called to acount and your money refunded..
I think I know the sort of kitchen you mean, we had one in the bungalow I grew up in. A sink and draining board, a cooker, one of those kitchen cupboards with a flap to let down for a work surface and a small table pushed against the wall and that was it. Fortunately in the thirties and forties things like a fridge were unimaginable luxuries so we managed. Is there any wall space where you could have a shelf or two? You are going to have to be very creative with storage. It sounds as though there is hardly room
for one person, never mind two.
You deserve much better. Do you want to join me on my 'Round Britalin Tour'?
Have to stop now and get out of bed!
Silva: I live where there is a most amazing harbour. Sadly it is privately owned and I believe mooring fees are eye-watering. Alternatively we have a slipway at the end of the road!

I wouldn't worry Monna. I've just had my breakfast myself.
A lot of people are worried about housing pops. It's not just those who are in receipt of benefits or are in LA housing. I am not contributing to our households finances so therefore, in this private rental I am not listed as renting the house myself. There is a clause that if DH leaves or something happens then I must leave with my kids in tow. I don't even get the option of trying to get housing benefit help. This isn't the rules of my LL this is the letting agent so my guess is it effects many people in the private rental sector.
On a brighter note. It's snowing0 -
Nursemaggie - agree with other posters. Don't let this go, I know you may feel that you've had enough hassle but if this person can do it to you he will do it to someone who maybe far more vulnerable. It is just not acceptable.
The housing situation just seems to get worse and worse and I have heard some horrendous stories and there doesn't seem to be any sort of short-term solution
Monna - Bembridge and Ryde are OK - only pay for nights like campingIf you are near the one I think then the fees are more than I paid for my boat!!
