NurseMaggie It was a glass of water & a M& S chocolate Vienna biscuit (trying to minimize the tin in the office!) that was raised at 3pm, was a bit damp in Preston so hope your weather was more kindly.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

A glass of diluting juice being held up to you nursemaggie, hope all has gone well and you are cosy, warm and dry.
Not a good day here, friend and neighbour's mum has been taken into hospital for palliative care, quite sudden so doing what I can to help.
DD found out she is to be made redundant at the end of January, will put the house renovations on hold till we see when she gets something else.
On a brighter note I received a camera today that DS2 had ordered me for christmas so will play with that in a minute.
Walked down to the library for a couple of books, looking forward to an early night and a good read.0 -
Hugs to all in need. Nurse Maggie have been thinking of you all day, hope alls well. Monna lovely to have you back but so sorry life has been a *ugger for you.
Had to buy a new washer as mine went bang yesterday, its amazing how companies charge for all the 'extra's' one wanted £2.49 to take the packaging away  Co-Op seemed best with free delivery and will mail me Thursday night to give me a time slot. I am so excited after struggling with mine for a couple of years I will finally have one that's cheap to run and will spin well. I never knew you could spend £2000 on a washer - no not me its just that I looked in John Lewis as I have heard their delivery is good.
Hubby just got up for an hour after a bad few days - dentist today finished him off. If I carry on knitting to occupy myself at this rate I will need a second house to store all my makes :rotfl:Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
It is just like having a baby isn't it Softstuff :smileyhea I miss having a puppy in the house. My youngest dog is 19 months now but she's still my baby x
I wouldn't know Mummyjane :rotfl: Happily childfree here, but I can imagine, many of the trials we're facing are like those of having kids, just in an accelerated scale, with sharper teeth and no nappies. Is morning we have had "smewchyloveyDexter" and "rabiddevildogDexter". He's taken a few lumps out of us despite trying every trick in the book (not punitive). This is one hell of a stressful time for us, look forward to him being a bit more manageable. About 3 hours sleep last night.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Hope the house move went smoothly nursemaggie
Good luck with the pup softstuff he/you will be trained in no time at all xx0 -
Hope all went okay nursemaggie. Looking forward to hearing from you again when you can get back online
Oh dear, last week the bin men missed our food waste bin and this week they've missed the food waste bin (which is now full) and the paper bin! Tried to ring the council , to find missed bin collections can now only be reported online  obviously filling in their online form isn't a problem, but you never know if anyone actually reads it....hope so, as they are meant to come back and collect within 2 working days.
I think the paper bin was missed because the person who emptied the plastics bin put it down on top on the paper bin0 -
Thank you Knit Witch. I had forgotten about Ravelry. I try to use local shops as much as possible but the really lovely craft shop that I have always used seems to have changed hands in the year I have been away. They now have very little in the knitting or sewing line and are not really interested, so the internet it is.
Fuddle: my knitting might rock but my crochet stinks.
pollyanna: thank you for the candle. I love them too and hate it when the time comes to snuff them out, it feels as if a warm presence has left.
Today I am trying to get some organisation into my life. Basically I am living in my house but in my DS and DIL's home. They have been living here for the last 4 years and had been promised that they could stay here until 2022 when I would need to sell it. When the sky fell on me and I needed somewhere to live in a hurry my family could not have been more loving and welcoming. They immediately cleared a bedroom and organised my moving in. Other friends rallied round and stored my furniture in garages and other places (see what happens when I try to shorten etcetera, Tec.)
so here I am, living as part of a family but spending most of my time in my room because it is the only space where I am in control.
The last thing I want is to sound ungrateful but I am finding it hard to fit myself in. They would really like me to live totally as part of the family but I hope you will understand when I say that their ways are not my ways. At 76 and having had my own home since I was 20 perhaps I have grown a bit set in my ways but I have made my mistakes and n
know what works for me. Sorry to unload this on you but I want you to understand when I complain that when I snap up some amazing bargain and mentally plan how I will use it, I could spit nails when I find that it has been used for packed lunches. That's a tiny example but I am sure you will understand how I feel. I know that my dear family would cut their right hands off if they knew how desperate I feel sometimes and how I don't want to get up in the mornings, and I would die rather than hurt them, so you lovely people are my only outlet. My apologies. Everyone else thinks I am coping amazingly well. This is the first time in my life that I am not coping at all.
Normal service will now be resumed.
Thanks for listening.

Monnagran, didn't want to read and run. Your family obviously love you a lot, maybe you could let them know how you are feeling a little at a time.
Hugs to you xSpend less now, work less later.0 -
Monna - I'm so sorry that you are feeling this way. I can't begin to imagine what catastrophe must have occured to bring you down like this. Maybe a chat with your doctor might help in the interim until you feel a bit stronger?
If you are back on the island, do you have any friends to support you? I just don't know what to say except that you are in my thoughts..... sending you love and hugs.:j[DFW Nerd club #1142 Proud to be dealing with my debt:TDMP start date April 2012. Firstly, big big hugs to you Monnagran  I can't imagine how isolated you must feel at times. I do hope things improve soon for you x
Softstuff - best of luck with the puppy - I know they are like piranhas sometimes!
After my third night of no sleep I have decided to be kind to myself today and let myself watch old movies and catch up on here this morning. Doctors tomorrow for some more pain killers, looking forward to seeing the consultant on 19th. Really need to get sorted out now, still in pain with my shoulder after 3 months so I'm hoping they'll be able to do something.GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100
