    Hi to new members

As we are talking about pets feel I have to share , good and bad ....
On the 23rd dec we had to put our old dog down , she was 15 1/2 so had a good innings so to speak , we haven't really told anyone because of Christmas etc , she wasn't a house dog , always worked ,loved outside ..was a big soft pudding with big brown eyes , but kept the other dogs in check with one bark....very odd her not being around ...empty kennel ...

But I may have already said ( can't remember) we are keeping one of the cocker pups , dotty ... she is already becoming quite a reprobate , the training is going great !! very slow , she hasn't learned to slow down never mind sit ...she is a live wire ... heaven help us lol
So we have 8 in total , 2 inside, 6 outside that often come in for treat days , tea , cuddles ... dotty comes in and it's like she is doing the wall of death motorbike stunt thing ...

Kids back at school tomorrow, so plan is kids school run, work, kids school run, when teas in oven ,homework, sort animals, feed kids , go for a run  ( first one since hospital treatment) so wish me luck , change ,go to a meeting, call in club, and some other stuff that will happen no doubt ..lol
    So quiet day then ....
Repeat for the next 5 days ....

Right must get my backside into gear and go to bed , I have been reading a blog about wartime recipes and my heads full of ideas now ,so looking forward to trying a few , know that money is tight this month ,but for once we have started January off not owing anything from Christmas ,so that's good ....
    Xx

burtha - lovely to meet another cocker owner :p So sorry to hear about your old girl passing  We have two cocker girls and are completely smitten with them. Hoping to have a litter later in the year. We've got two cats as well (not sure how it happened - we have a habit of adopting waifs and strays!). They all cuddle up together in the evenings

So sorry burtha, sounds like she had a wonderful life.

I can't get another dog as I work and would compare any other with my beloved Pickles. 15 when she had to be PTS, grew up with the children and joined in everything we did. We had no fences at our old house but she didn't stray. She was a bit of an odd looking dog, she looked like an outsize jack russell, just a mongrel but mad as a brush. She went to the summerlands about 5 years ago but I still hear her feet tapping on the wooden floors!

I have just heard that my offer on the bungalow I liked has finally been accepted :j After being kept hanging for weeks or more, the seller announced he wanted sold by mid Feb so I need to get a move on! It was gently pointed out to him that I could do nothing till he had accepted the offer

I contacted both EAs involved and my solicitor this afternoon and will get an emergency shuttle bus to bypass the collapsed bridge and eventually get me to the other side of town.

So glad I had supplies of food and a solar torch and lantern as we had a power cut as well.

Hugs to all and hope for a better 2016.
