It's both heart warming and heart breaking to feel the presence of a beloved pet. Mine was a ginger cat called Oscar who owned my heart for 13 years, and the rest. He always slept tucked in behind my knees. After he had died I automatically slept with my knees bent in a certain way and could actally feel the weight of Oscar behind them. Nine years and four houses on I still sleep that way and can often feel a weight behind my knees.
Some animals are much loved pets. Others become part of you and will stay that way for the rest of your lives. DOCKY was one of those who became part of all our lives. Thank you for sharing him Lyn.

MONNA - My silver tabby oliver is the cat of my heart after many cats and many years . He was run over at the same time as freddy mercury died but like yourself he's still with me . He used to lie behind my knees on the sofa and he still does .
Mardywotsit - sorry but I always wanted to write that ! You must make sure you are ready if her maj comes begging . Endless possibilites there .you could kill the RV in return for a free pardon - but you would miss him really . Demand free jelly babies for life or a daily delivery of meals from Balmoral . Hope the sun comes back .

Mar don't forget to curtsey, and it's"ma'am as in ham"!

Seriously, hope things improve & the RV becomes less Mr Grumpy. Thinking of you in these extremes of weather.

    Hi,

I'd love to join you all if I may. It's been a tough year here. Dh is an amputee and his health is deteriorating so struggling at work ft. I work pt but I've also been off sick too so only on ssp :(

We've been dabbling with OS living for a few years but now I really need to start doing as much as possible. We hate wasting anything and I'm hoping that we'll be able to start living much more OS in 2016. It would really take some of the pressure off, especially as dh suffers badly with anxiety.

We have two kids, both in senior school now. They've both really good and my daughter helps a lot around the house.

2016 has to be better doesn't it?

mummyjane - welcome to the thread. As you'll see some of the posts (most of the posts) are completely crazy but they actually keep us all sane.

Can't say my 2016 has got off to the best start, but hopefully it can only get better and I know that this lot on here are there to support and chivvy me along.
Spend less now, work less later.

Welcome Maryjane - the more the merrier ;)
The talk of much loved and lost furbabies has made me think of my little Mitzi - a grey & white British blue cross who never thought she was a cat. She was very attuned to emotions and over her 20+ years comforted many youngsters and me at sad times with just her presence and her purr. I've had a number of rescue pusses since and all have their own personality but never like her. The spooky thing is my new girlie seems to be developing the same traits - not meowing only chirruping and let's me play with her tail!!

    Hi,

It is possible that there is a more friendly and supportive thread on another forum somewhere, I haven't found it.
    Welcome.
We can all hope that 2016 is far better than the preceding years, and with the wealth of knowledge and the ready support of posters heareabouts it should be easier to cope with even if it isn't, but it will be.

And has a blackeye from tripping over the remains of her halo and would never eat anything sweet - she regularly buys jelly babies for those in need, but would never dream of eating one herself - who are you and what have you done with Mardatha?
