Lovely to think dear Docky's still around :)

burtha How kind of your dog to leave you one profiterole each :rotfl: Love the "Smile and wave boys, smile and wave"!

Dear me, it seems awfully dark and dreary out there this morning. oh well, the longer days are on the way.

I read before Christmas that the earliest sunset is about 2 weeks after the Solstice. So that's tomorrow, then it starts to get later :j
  • Hello this is my very first post. Started out on my OS journey a while ago and interested in this forum. There is a lot on here though, any advice on where to start? Feeling excited to be here but a bit daunted!

Every day is dark and wet and windy. If I get cabin fever and murder the RV, you lot can testify that I was a desperate woman. North east Scotland in a bad way, more floods more roads closed and more power cuts. Apparently the queen is cut off at Balmoral too. She might end up knocking a door asking to borrow a cup of sugar lol
  • Hugs Mar, you have my sympathy, my hubby was almost reasonable yesterday for the first time since the beginning of November

Welcome onwardsupwards. Any questions about the OS style of MSE you'll get lots of support on here.

Morning fencers. Mrs LW - loved hearing that you still see Docky. SickDog visits us sometimes too.

Ooh mardy - just think - you could be 'by appointment'
Its dark wet & windy here too but thankfully we hav'n't had the awful weather conditions the rest of the country has been suffering. Must admit I'm getting a bit stir crazy too. Going up in the loft to put the decs away and see if there are a few things I can bring down to get rid of. I know there's a couple of large pictures up there that can go - ones been there at least 20 years !!!
Stay warm & safe all x
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

onwardsupwards welcome, The best place to start is to switch to as many own brands as possible or better still try one of the German Discounters.

We use hardly any brands now. Where we do it is because they are a great deal better rather than just a little better. If you have a local market use it they are often fresher and cheaper for meat, fruit and veg.
  • Magic isn't it JAZEE??? we've still got the old border terrier too, I don't see him but I hear him his footsteps and the jingle of his collar, I know it isn't Docky because he didn't wear a collar after a disc injury in his neck, so lovely to have the pair of them here.

Brilliant. I don't actually see SickDog either, I hear her snoring while I'm working.

  • Toby, our beautiful golden retriever has been gone many years, but I still hear him pounding up the stairs and jumping on our bed. For a long time after, I used to put my hand down at the side of my chair to stroke him.

I think they will always be in our heart
