Well done stiltwalker, what a fantastic achievement. It's lovely to hear that the children are doing so well and what a star your little Miss is!

Hello gb61, bring your cuppa and join the chat.

I have one more day at work before the holidays, my plan is to wind as many children up before 2.30 and see them off to their parents! All the parties are done, the nativity performed, just the service tomorrow morning and then try to clear my desk, bet it's a busy day on the phones, etc.

I'll have to get a shifty on tomorrow afternoon, get the house cleaned and tidied as I'm popping down south for a few days. I'll meet up with DS2 who is over visiting his grandparents and bring him up here for christmas and new year. I want the house to look its best as he hasn't been here since May and a lot has changed!

Hope you are all organised, just a week to go to the big ho, ho, ho!

Nice to see you again Stilty you have been busy. Congratulations on your degree.

Wonderful the children are doing well at School. Think little miss Stilty will be famous before she grows up. Maybe she will be in show business or presenting TV shows.

DS is actually enjoying stuff now we are getting on with the painting it was the preparation that he was moaning about.

I'm glad we are painting now I quite enjoy painting though I am not quite up to it these days but I will be 70 in a few months. I'm not doing too bad considering over two years of cancer treatment and arthritis in all joints. We are making progress. :T

Enjoy your trip South camelot I hope it won't rain much on the way there and back.

nursemaggie Glad to hear the painting's going okay :T

Had to do a bit of emergency babysitting this afternoon as DGD had a hospital appointment at very short notice so we looked after DGS in the meantime. The traffic was so bad that the drive home from the hospital took her poor Dad over an hour instead of the usual 25 minutes! Rush hour, plus people coming back from, or going, shopping, I suppose.

I was so glad I'd got some chicken curry out of the freezer this morning. All I had to do was boil some rice and nuke the curry :)

    Morning all
Thanks for the welcome, such an achievement stilty, slap on the back for you, be proud, just catching up from yesterdays posts, my garden doesn't know what season it is, got geraniums still in flower, but the winter jasmine is flowering too lol,, daffs have popped up but no flowers as yet, we (family) have a bet to see if they will flower before dgd birthday at the end of feb,
Xmas shopping sorted but as usual i'll still be picking bits up on xmas eve! family are coming to me for xmas as hubby doesn't socialise a lot so he has the security of his bedroom to escape to once the kids are playing and nanna bear ( me ) is singing along to the xmas tunes ,, well I am so FED up of this weather rain rain and oh and then some more rain, but shouldn't moan, I really feel for the people who have been flooded, how they get through it is such courage.
Cleaning day for me bed change etc, then have a run on my treadmill to blow the cobwebs away.
nurse Maggie, you sound a lot like myself, I like to get stuck in , and am to suffering with arthritis (waiting for shoulder surgery) but you sound strong willed, good on yer, well must make a move get breakfast ready then get hubby up, have a good day all, x

Can you get a shoulder op for arthritis? The pain in my shoulder and arm is sickening and starting to get me down. I was only offered Ibuprofen gel lol

Morning :) Damp and dreary again (not actually raining atm, thankfully) but I hope we may get a bit of sun later (before it disappears behind the houses across the road!). Oh well, not long til the Solstice then we can look forward to longer days.

gb A few of my daffs are showing, just in one spot, but I had a look around in the front border y'day and I couldn't spot any others. The summer flowers are all still in bloom, but I might cut them back a bit to see if that'll make room for the daffs to come up. though I do remember one year we had them growing out of the middle of a lavender bush :D

Mar I would ask for a referral to a rheumatologist, unless of course you've already seen one. A friend of mine thought she had arthritis but it turned out to be torn muscles in her shoulders. She asked how on earth that could have happened, as she hadn't had an accident, and the specialist said "We don't know - it just happens sometimes." She had both shoulders operated on (not both at the same time though!) to repair the muscles and was very much better afterwards.

DS was ordering some stuff from amazon the other day, so I asked him if he'd order the DVD of Flint Street Nativity for me. Looking forward to watching that again later. It was on TV ages ago, and turned up in the schedules occasionally at later Christmases, but hasn't been on for a while. It's great fun - it's about children in a school nativity play, but all the children are played by adults, and when the teacher is speaking to them they are filmed from above as if the teacher is looking down at them. They behave just like children in Reception class do :D I love it.

Nursemaggie - it takes time to settle in to your new home! Glad you are making good progress.

Not sure where Mrslurcherwalker is I think she may still be on her holiday in Europe as I have not seen her in! Anyway, just a bit of good news for her, Hampshire came out tops of the best places to live in the country - I know she will be pleased with that :D
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D
