The Garden Fence - help and support in tough times

Its an in "limbo" kind of a day. Time is dragging. I don't feel anything in particular. Good or bad. No reason to go out but I think I'll see if I can find a birthday card for my friend. Perhaps buy some fruit juice. Glad things seem to be going not so bad for those who have posted(hopefully those who haven't too)
But sorry to hear of the weather woes and coldsI am looking after myself(honest)but my meal plans went by the wayside and here at 6pm I must make the effort to make some meals. I have yet to eat. I've found a ready meal in the fridge. I'll have that upon my return.
I think its a day as suggested of comfort food. I found some chicken thighs last night(boned)only 50p more expensive than those with bones and skin, I'll stick them in the slow cooker soon, add stock and vegetables and have a stew/casserole or whatever you call such a meal. I have some diced beef so that's another option.
I quite fancy even something simple like bacon, egg and chips or something similar. How we return to meals we remember from our childhood.
I'm thinking of(even though I watch less than I used to)and often cannot be bothered to pick out some films on TV and sit in the living room and watch them but if I get the TV working in the bedroom(still flat screen)and the signal relayed there(even though smaller than the one in the lounge)its right for the size of the room. I'll eventually get the TV guys in to set it up.
My TV in the lounge isn't that big(really)32" Big enough for the size of room but TBH the other trick if I find it difficult to read credits is to move nearer to the TV or I'll have to invest in new glasses:rotfl:not sit at the other end of the room."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Well - the Macoroni Cheese will have to be for tomorrow night - not enough milk in the fridge (4 bottles in the freezer though) So we're with you Pops - chunky chips, egg, baked beans & bread & butter - gone down treat!
We don't have a big screen TV either Pops - I hate the big "blind eye" in the room. We used to have ours in a cabinet so I could shut it away!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I've got same weather as you MrsL... hail sleet and a horrible bitter wind.0

Hi gang,
Wow a lot of changes happening around here . But glad I'm back, it's been lovely reading the last 63 odd pages lol , catching up with you all.
A quick recap/ introduction ..
5'8 and 3/4,:p fave busicuts , ginger nuts or custard cream, child hood sweet fruit saladfavorite colour red, aged mid 40's widow and living alone .
Not sure I like the new look of the forum .
I've not posted for a while because, well to be blunt I was and I still am struggling to keep going.
My well of inner strength seemed to run dry. And the act of getting up every day and facing it all got to much.. I practically lived in my bed ,sleeping unless I had to go to work. Not helped by having a month off sick because I tried to pass 2 gallstones  and I'm still waiting for my op to have the Gall bladder removed .
Anyway I'm hoping the nicer weather has started to break into the dark place.
I'm making simple plans for the garden. Trying to do something for 5 minutes, ever day .
Hugs to everyone, I'll be in the SHTF thread catching up.

Cornishchick You've been through a lot, its allowed. There's not a right or wrong way to deal with what's thrown at us. Nor how long it takes us. But thinking of you as I am sure all are on here.
I'd say its three years since the big change in my own life. But then again, changes are afoot again and its very much the unknown.
And I guess as I think of things I have had major life issues roughly every 15 or 20 years or so. And listening and talking to others that seems to be the average period of time that passes before something comes along to knock us sideways.
What seem like small steps really are big ones(as in you actually wanting to take an interest in the garden again)and a way back from the dark place. Take care of you X"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Cornish chick - so lovely to hear from you although I wish you felt more positive. You have faced so much with strength, you are allowed a wobble - but know you have people from all over the place who have never met you, never known you as anything other than Cornish chick or CC if we are being familiar but who are wishing you further strength and much love - Hx0

cornishchick as pops says there is no right time it takes as long as it takes and it will never go away entirely.
We have all thought of you often and have been waiting here to offer support. Not that I am much use today a have a very bad cold. Only still up because DS has only just cooked me my first food of the day very cold scrambled eggs.
Off to bed now but won't get any sleep until I can wear my cpap mask again.0 -
CC so good to see you back.
Pops, as usual, has the right words, it takes as long as it takes. We have all wondered how you were doing.
You have my sympathies regarding the gall stones. I had them when I was 24, and by the time they operated, (which wasn't keyhole surgery in those days) I had passed them all, and didn't I know it? Really, really painful, you will be much better after the op
