    Good evening fenders.

toomuchdebt how is your daughter? What a shame she will not be dancing with Pasha.

The new washing machine arrived on Friday so no more doing the laundry in the bath. I think OH washed everything he could lay his hands on over the weekend.:)

My cast came off today workbook :j. I've got to use the crutches and wear a gel splint for another two weeks and then everything should be back to normal. Walking is more uncomfortable than I anticipated but hopefully that will improve in a few days. I am now the proud owner of one fat leg and one thin leg.

Thanks for asking :) She's OK...she's hoping to get a lighter cast on Friday and is still hoping to be able to do at least part of the dance(mad girl lol). She's managed to get an extension on her uni essays thankfully. She says the cast is very very itchy.

I know they tell you not to put anything down the cast but I found a long fine knitting needle was bliss ;) for the itchies

Ooh, fingers x'd for her, TMD!

I went to the library this morning; hadn't been in there for quite a while as I had so many books at home which I hadn't got around to reading, and was sorry to see that one of my favourite authors had been visiting there yesterday afternoon and I'd missed the chance to tell him how much I enjoyed his books. That will teach me to go in there a bit more often so that I know what's going on!

Are you going to tell me it serves me right, GQ? :D

I think she's seriously tempted to try this.

    Afternoon,jumping back in,:)

All of you with less than perfect feet, I've been given the name of a website called Cheerful Soles ( I have no connection whatsoever and am not recommending them) which I am going to give a try. They appear to have some shoes which look quite nice and can take orthotics, quite pricy though.

Have any of you tried them?

I prefer to wear dresses and, sadly, trainers or walking boots don't seem to lend themselves to the feminine look I aspire to :rotfl:

Got a stinking cold today. Woke me at 6am sneezing into my mask. A most unpleasant sensation. Used half a box of tissues and have a headache and a very sore nose. I think it is a cold as I took an anti histamine half an hour ago and it has not made any difference.

Not a good idea to stick knitting needles down plaster casts, always the danger of injuring yourself. I do understand why you would though I broke my arm 22 years ago.
  • What a very odd day we're having here today it's either the brightest warmest sunshine and beautiful blue sky or black lashing rain and copious amounts of hail drumming on the windows. Docky does NOT like the hail one tiny bit! It's cold too and although we haven't given in and put the heating on we're both wrapped up in nice warm throws and have been snuggled up in armchairs trying to keep warm with hot drinks. I made us some lovely vegetable soup for lunch as it's so dismal outside and I'm making oil spray oven chips for supper with some poached eggs, oven cooked tomatoes and baked beans, feel the need for comfort food! Looking out of the front window I can see yet another big flat plate of black cloud coming towards us over the river, I'm pleased that walkies is done for today and we managed to get round this aftrnoon in the dry albeit in a padded coat and with hat and gloves on, daft weather!!!

We've got it here too now Mrs L - I don't mind a drop of rain but its lashing it down & my lovely display of tulips is getting really battered. DH has lit the fire too! You're right about the comfort food - its Macaroni Cheese tonight - probably in front of the fire!

I have to keep fighting off the urge to dash out and hold the umberella over the apple blossom on the front lawn, I can see petals on the grass underneath it!!! so sad!!! Love macaroni cheese, yum!

The height of irony!!! A man has just knocked to see if we'd like to install some solar panels? 'cos there's a grant in the area y'know!

Black clouds passing over - brilliant sunshine at the front of the house and a beautiful double rainbow out the back :)
