Thanks for that, I've made a note of it0 -
Morning all,
Wondercollie That sounds like a trying shift and then some. I'd love a big garden, it is one of the main things on my 'dream house' list that keeps me mostly on the straight and narrow saving for a deposit.
Shanks An inch of snow?
Today's plans include practice exam questions and a bit of writing and reading. I managed to make a start on writing something that I need for the middle of June on Friday, so will try to keep on top of that as well. A bit of laundry, the gym and then tea tonight is either aubergine pasta or leek risotto, whichever is going bendy fastest! I'll work on knitting or the dress this afternoon for a bit, depending on which I'm most in the mood for. I'm an a big flat bit for knitting so it doesn't require any thinking at the moment.
I think this is the week for Maggie the Cat's flea and parasite drops. She detests them as they tend to make her fur a bit mucky no matter how careful we are to put them on her skin and smooth the fur down. I shall have to conspire with OH to catch her and get them on and then buy back her affections with dreamies.0 -
Morning everyone
I'm very much a lurker on this thread and the previous ones mainly due to the fact that I have an awful memory and struggle to keep up with the chat side of it. I'm always amazed at posters who have long lists of comment, good wishes and questions about all the other posters just like in a real life conversation. I tried this once years ago and spent ages writing what I wanted to type it was just taking too much time.:o
Anyway I logged on to have a little read after a few weeks and was so pleased to see Popperwell was back. I have always enjoyed your posts, please keep posting.
Oh and I enjoy everyone's else's too.........I'm getting into a real mess here. Back to lurkdom;)1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

We're being told its coming here in the N East of England and the sun fools us into thinking all is well but it is cold. Then again this part of England is quite large so it may just affect the Lakes, Northumberland etc...and miss us.
I did my good deed last night I took enough of a buffet for my friends and had spare to bring home for me. There is someone with special needs who goes to the club so I gave her a ham roll, crisps and a lemon bakewell tart and she was touched by the gesture(I always talk with her when I go there)and she gave me a little kiss on the cheek
I'm doing more of this with my friend who is now at home but after his hospital stay is not as good as he was physically/mentally. He was in an enforced coma for at least a month and had two heart attacks whilst in hospital. I still try to include him in things where I am able and I haven't abandoned him. So I often sit in with him when someone is needed to watch over him and help him get around. And he wants a bit of company too."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Pops you are a kind man.
What lovely gestures, and in particular the gentleman at home. It is good for a man to have another man to talk to, sometimes us ladies seem pre-occupied with other things. Also it would give his carer a break as well.
I can remember reading your posts when your Mum died, and you seemed so lost and lonely, and look at you now. You have a really good social life, I know it would be good to have a little more money, but so many people are in the same situation, and you are just getting on with life and that is to your credit.
Also many of us older members have various ailments, but what I say is "keep taking the tablets"
You are a good man Pops

ivyleaf, I didn't know that! Every day is a learning day. I usually have 2 windows open, one to read and the other one to post on.
Popperwell, what a lovely man you are, I am sure your caring way is much appreciated by all your friends.
wondercollie that's a massive garden you have, well done on doing your research. You have the patience of a saint, not sure I would be a good nurse if they patients didn't behave!
I've looked at the paper potter and it looks really good, I also like the idea of the ice cream cones and will have a look for those, I'm sure we are nearly at the ice cream season and the likes of Home Bargains should get them in.
What a mixed bag of weather we've had - overnight frost, glorious sunshine, hail, rain, sleet and high wind. When I left work at 3 it was a massive 4 degrees!
Thanks for the tips on the stove, will try the vinegar tomorrow.0 -
Good evening fenders.
toomuchdebt how is your daughter? What a shame she will not be dancing with Pasha.
The new washing machine arrived on Friday so no more doing the laundry in the bath. I think OH washed everything he could lay his hands on over the weekend.:)
My cast came off today workbook :j. I've got to use the crutches and wear a gel splint for another two weeks and then everything should be back to normal. Walking is more uncomfortable than I anticipated but hopefully that will improve in a few days. I am now the proud owner of one fat leg and one thin leg.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Mrs Veg Plot It's amazing how soon your muscles shrink through lack of use. It will soon get back to normal once you get walking more.0
