Camelot I asked on my local Facebook page if anyone had any little pots they didn't need, as now we've moved and have inherited a greenhouse my son is taking an interest in gardening. A couple of people were kind enough to give me stuff, and I've got lots of those trays that plants come in from the garden centre.
Great news about GD to be, Ginny.
Hope it warms up for you soon Mar, -4, Brrrr! It's colder here today than it has been but nothing like that.
Nothing planned for today, DH needs a serious rest and we have it all kicking off tomorrow morning with the kitchen being taken out. We should have a cooker connected, but no worktops, cupboards or sink. So cooking may be a challenge for a while yet. Car has to go in for a service and MOT tomorrow too, so fingers crossed that won't be too expensive.0 -
You can buy a very easy to use gadget to make small starter pots out of sheets of newspaper. The joy of them is that you plant the whole thing, paper pot and all so don't have the problem of roots sticking to the inside of plastic pots etc. We've had one for years and use it every growing season.0

Wow, thanks for all the advice, such a great place for information, thank you.0

Must just say stilty You're certainly having a hair-raising time  The false sloping windowsills sound a brilliant idea though.

Wondercollie That sounds a lovely big house - how nice that your son wants to buy it when you decide it's time to downsize!
Mrs L That sounds a brilliant gadget! I haven't come across such a thing. So handy being able to plant the whole thing! What is it called?
Fairyprincess Sorry you had such a bad nightBlooming neighbours! And I do think you are being incredibly patient with that collar.

Just as I have to go out, the sun goes in...but a quick call at Aldi's for fruit on the way to church, I can just about do that and luckily everything is only a couple of streets from home. Painkillers taken so walking will seem less hurtful. I've left plenty of time too.
Then home to make those sandwiches etc...for tonight and just perhaps I have time for a quick throw out of more rubbish and what isn't rubbish I can put spare crockery/cutlery etc...in the pantry(I'm running out of space)to hide items.
I lost some space when they used the airing cupboard for the combi boiler for the heating.
As I've said before many "New" homes have a lack of storage space and when I say mine is a three bedroom everyone assumes its "Big" but in reality...it ain't.
Even the Housing Association admitted the kitchen is small and when revamped it took some thought how they could give me extra cupboards etc...other properties built at the same time on the town have more space to play with and its really more like a two bedroom but a box room used as a bedroom on the plans.
That's why until recently a washer/fridge freezer had to go into the dining room. The tumble drier is still in there. Should I consider an extra freezer at a future time...it may have to go into the dining room too unless its OK to be put in the garage/outhouse where coal was once stored for a open fire/coke for the central heating. And if I do get my mobility scooter that will be stored in the garage or outhouse too.
Sounds as though good things are going on this SundayI'll go and get shaved then disappear.

Ivyleaf they're called PAPER POTTERs and we got ours in a garden centre but have just looked and they are on Ama*on for £7.99. Jolly useful gadget and once you've got it you'll have starter pots for free forever.0

Back from the Remembrance Service...I supplied a clearly written note of Mum and Dad's names and they called Mum Katherine instead of Kathleen  but apart from that it all went well. I know who it was meant to be :heart2:
Its lovely day out there, I hope it is for everyone here too. And I've no excuse now to eat healthily as I have grapes, blueberries, apples, pears, bananas and strawberries. A late New Year's resolution(though in reality I don't make them)I was good for a couple of years and let this slide so time to start again."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy.
