Silvasava, it sounds like a lovely investment! I'm about an 8-10 on top and a 10-12 on the bottom--veering towards the smaller on top and larger on bottom which only further complicates the buying! Grey is my second choice--it just mixes well with everything.0

DD1 had a temporary job in a bank after finishing uni. We didn't want to spend a lot on office-type clothes as she was looking for a research job in science. She had a black suit and white shirt for her graduation ceremony. She couldn't decide if she wanted to wear trousers or a skirt for that so we'd got both. I managed to get her a dark grey suit (new) from a charity shop and she had a pair of good light grey trousers and a black cardigan.. We bought three coloured shirts from a supermarket. That lot kept her going for several months .0

I'm posting on my phone so sorry I've not mentioned anyone by name .
Well another work week over, I'm supposed to have a 20 hour contract, but add in all the other hours I do in the background.. It's been a long week. It's the time of year when the reviews suddenly appear.. So all those meetings to go too.
Oh well. I'm home now, the heatings on because it was 13 c indoors . A bottle of wine open and my PJs are on.. I might just say burger!;) It and order a take away .
Anyone have plans for the bank holiday weekend?

For those of us who are retired there is little point on planning to go anywhere. When we are free most of the weeks best to avoid the crowds.
Personally I would like to go out but I don't like to spend the time on my own. I guess you will feel the same CC.0 -
cornishchick Sounds like a plan. My kind of night.:) No plans for B Holiday here but that's because I depend on public transport and it tends to run like a Sunday Service...in a coastal town(Saltburn)they have a music day in the gardens starts around 1pm-11pm but its approx. 3 hrs there and the same back and if I don't leave by 8.30pm I'm stuck there.
Tickets are cheap enough. Then again not sure what the weather will be like. As you suggest...it could be warmer. The bus home is complicated too. I have to add an extra hour to the journey, sit in a bus station and add more miles to the trip. Its a pity because the music event looks fun.
I may just take it easy...
Do something nice to eat...listen to the radio/music. And being a Bank Holiday no one from any government dept or the H Association can contact me for the next three days so I can just "Chill"
I've sent my postal vote for the election for whatever good it will do and that's all I shall say. So most tasks and bills are sorted...for now. Calm before the storm I'm sure.
I've paid my TV license for the year(I know not everyone is able to)so I am lucky(I do so whilst I am able)and worry about other bills later...the same with my internet.
Paid the annual line rental today and saved £35 and pressed them for a deal(and though locked into a 24mth agreement)they've offered me 24/7 unlimited, un- throttled broadband for free for the whole period so I now save another £42 there. I'm glad that I asked.
Phone calls are generally free to most numbers and esp if I disconnect before 60mins is up and redial. But I don't phone many people(and they don't phone me)If I switch to a weekend/evenings call plan I could probably bring that down even more. But now we're only talking around 46p per day. I'd say who I'm with but that may be unfair but it shows its worth asking if a deal can be bettered."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Talk of clothes(Casual or for work)Its simplicity every time for me now...shirts(short sleeved or long)T-shirts, jumpers and yes, even cardigans.
I'll often slop around in casual wear and I get the wearing of a robe/dressing gown/pj's/lounge gear.
I do see clothes I like and I always had an eye for something nice but I do often think is it worth the cost and when will I wear it.
But I do look reasonably smart if I am going out and if somewhere formal I could wear a tie/white shirt and dark jacket. I have some dress shoes too but tend to stick to trainers/loafers."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

My goodness Pops you have had a very productive day, well done.
I was just saying when you are retire bank Holidays don't mean very much, whereas when I was at work I looked forward to one, but knew I would be twice as busy when I went back to work.
We will have a quiet weekend, DD is coming to lunch on Sunday, but otherwise nothing planned.
Look after yourself Pops

FPK, have you checked out M&S? I have several of their tailored dresses, and they currently have a navy range in there which I spotted last week.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

candlelight I think you're right about Bank Holidays. Yours sounds lovely. Its nice when you are content which I mostly am. I always was and I do remember once asking Mum if she thought I'd be strong/content when on my own. I'm getting there.
You know I think the weekend will go OK though not doing anything really different here. I mentioned that music fest on Monday but...though I could still take off...
The little social Bingo Club I go to on the town(Monday afternoons)is still on and the organiser has arranged for a fish/chips/mushy peas meal before the bingo starts:pso that's the food taken care of and of course there's the Sunday night get together...some of the turns could be better but...:rotfl:usually the main problem is they are too loud(but I do have some ear plugs)"A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Pops, you go for it, the supper sounds nice.
I just want to say I feel from your posts that you are more content in your life now. I know there will always be the odd niggle, but you have done so well and your Mum would be so proud of the way you have coped and made a life for yourself without her.
